Post by: vRS Carl on January 01, 2011, 01:13:30 pm
Been doing a bit of work to the Blue Bullet and broke my Disc & Pad changing virginity

Yesterday with the generous help of our very own Mr Fuller :notworthy: :congrats: :notworthy: the following was done.

New Rear OEM Discs and pads

New J-Hooked 345mm discs (thanks to our Brake Guru DaveB) and OEM pads (Yes the Lump hammer was needed :signLOL:)

A huge thanks to Stu as now, after his expert tutelage, I can change brake pads, discs and engine mounts (which I wasn't confident doing as I'd never done it before) :happy2:

Oh and I Mustn't forget Hedge. Without his "Supervisory" skills we would have been in a right kerfuddle  :booty:

I was only there for food. Had I known you were dismantling your car I would have turned up earlier with a freshly sharpened wit and a big hammer.

I think the hammer we had was just fine. Although my right boot did a better job on the front drivers side caliper :signLOL:

the hammer AKA the Persuader.  Only a k04 or LSD left for you know then carl. Youhave pretty much everything else on there

No need for an LSD I don't push the car that hard to be honest so have never found myself wanting grip (well except in the snow )

K04 is for the people who take the path of least resistance.  I'm taking the hard route and chasing the Seat Leon K03 Supercar :signLOL:

Good choice, thats only a £70 mod.  by mod i mean a quick run on AMDs rollers which seem like they are back to their usual inflated results.  Free Hp in a doggy bag anyone?

Seems the blunt tool won over the surgical precision of the hammer.  :P  :xmassmiley:

some results from VAGOC

Paolo (jungleman) - S3 stage 1- Evolve Stg 1, Milltek Cat Back, Evoms - 345 bhp & 338 lb/ft

JamesS3 - S3 - stage 2 (ITG & MT TBE & Revo) - 377.4bhp and 355.8lb/ft

gixxer990 - S3 - Stg 2+ Revo, MT TBE, Evoms,Forge DV, Autotech, RS4 FPR - 394.6bhp and 359.5lb/ft

they latest efforts at a RR day say otherwise. lets be fair all 3 cars are making around 40hp more than normal.

So carl, you should be over the 300hp region easily and into the seat k03 supercar territory

Any vids/audio Carl? I'd be interested to see how they've influenced the sound on the VRS :happy2:

It's the noise in the car mate and I don't think an audio/video clip would do it justice.

I'll see if I can make a clip for you but it would be better if you were in the car.
