-
off the top of my head 70-80 notes less if you have a look about on ebay.... if i remember its located under the steering wheel in the footwell... do a search there is a load of info about on the upgrade...

OK, when buying a RNS510 should I pay note to anything specific? other than making sure it has the code with it?
-
canbus < do I find what model I currently have fitted and get the next one up or something?
-
If you do a search, you'll see what you need including part numbers, price and an installation guide.
Basically any canbus version later than (and incl.) L will be fine. The L version was introduced in 2007 cars onwards. You'll also need to get the unit coded as it will be "blank" and won't have any settings on it.

Can the version B be upgraded to the latest maps with postcode search?

Johnny if you take the ashtray out on yours the Canbus should be behind there, after 2004 they where above the pedals and after 2006 they where behind the relay plate above the small cubby.

Can the version B be upgraded to the latest maps with postcode search?
Yes but you need to update the firmware too.
-
which is more upgradable?
The B or C?
i.e can the B unit be simply upgraded to the same standard as the C? or does the C have greater potential than the B version?

Can the version B be upgraded to the latest maps with postcode search?
Yes but you need to update the firmware too.
Would I need the canbus then? I've read that the version B doesn't suffer from battery drain, but i've also read that certain firmwares can cause battery drain with the version B.
-
If you stay with a firmware version of 1300 or below then you won't suffer from battery drain with older can gateways
-
Thanks, think i'll have to read up on firmware differences next. :happy2:
