Title: New Suffolk Edition 30
Post by: garrardrj on January 07, 2011, 06:10:50 pm
Well it hasn't been great weather for getting goods pics and took these on my iphone 4 recently. Has only done 16700 fairly low spec but fantastic condition and has had FOUR owners

So am looking at a remap to see what you lot have been raving about.......
I'm also after an induction system that retains the original engine cover......or a panel filter (are they really any good as i don't think so)
May replace the DV..is it necessary or just replace if it breaks........it is at the front of the engine bay on these isn't it?
Got a Cruise control ready to fit..........Anyone in Suffolk wanna do it for me?
May fit an armrest with leather lid...
What else do you suggest?

Welcome  :happy2:

Am also in Suffolk so will keep an eye out for you.  Lovely car by the way.

DV if want to replace it just get an OEM D version.  Just as good as the Forge (arguably better) at much less cost and yes it is at the front of the engine bay.

WRT panel filters - they are not really worth it in IMO.  If you want to get some decent gains then a full CAI is the only way to go.

If you need any help with VCDS give me a shout.

Nice to see a 5 door owner, not too many of us here.
If you want a really good induction kit then you will need to either lose the engine cover, or cut it up (as I have done) to make it fit.

I know nothing about bikes but that looks a bit fruity  :P
Really like the look of the Ed30 Garrard.

4 owners - only 16700 miles?!

The only car I've ever bought with 4 owners had 90k on the clock - that being my first car, a 1.1 P reg Punto

The first owner had two ED30's in the first year and both were sold to him by Wolsey VW which is where i got the car from.
The owner before me replaced it with a Mk 6 Golf R and he bought that and the ED30 from Wolsey VW......The other owner also bought from Wolsey so they know the whole history....Robinsosn at Norwich did the last service though and the car used to be on registration S4*** .........i think the MK6 is on this number now in the Norwich area
Has Full VW history and i am fairly happy with the 4 previous owners but i was a little dubious initially
The car is in fantastic condition and it had that Autoglym treatment from new. This treatment i believe has protected the car like no other car i have ever had.
The MPG is pretty poor though got 21mpg first 120miles and 23 mpg next 120miles. I think thats because of it doing short journeys from cold.
Genehunt.........We spend alot of time in Kessingland at Heathland Beach and also Aldeburgh....May see you about there in the summer

Well a big thank you to Eddie-NL who fitted my Cruise Stalk. But i now need a different steering wheel control module as it doesn't work!
Seeing what he did i could never have done it.....too many plastic bits to push and pull and take off. Would have definitley broken some.
His reward he had a ride in an ED30.............get the cruise control sorted and you can have a drive :signLOL:

and then after the Bluefin aswell.......

If you want a really good induction kit then you will need to either lose the engine cover, or cut it up
Or he could buy a GruppeM intake!

Nice motor mate. Seems to be in good condition despite four owners. Wonder what their reasons were for selling though!

Well on the mini roundabout you did look at me as i drove towards woodbridge on woodbridge rd ! What were you looking at if you didn't see the car as we were both on the roundabout :surprised:

Found out from checking some paperwork that the car sold new in may 2007 was up for sale again in August 2007 at Wolsey
