I have been reading the sat nav & car audio section over the past week for info on a RNS upgrade. My car is 2007 56 plate so understand it is borderline with the can gateway version that avoids battery drain.
I have decided that I want the latest RNS 510 version (C with LED) and want to update the firmware/maps without the battery drain worry.
Therefore I am looking to upgrade the can gateway either first or at the same time as fitting the RNS.
Have seen this on the bay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320619969121&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT
Looks like the latest gateway available, is this ok?
I would then need one of the many helpful guys on this forum with VCDS to help me fit it/them.

Yes that gateway is fine for the upgrade. As you rightly said one of the most recent.
I used AF when I fitted my LED RNS in my 2005 car and am using v7 maps and firmware 2760 :happy2:

Really useful that post because if it is the most recent then they are half the price of what a dealer would charge you.
So its definately the right one?

100% the right one mate.
Although there are many others that would be ok too.
I got mine from ebayde for £50 delivered :happy2:

Thanks Apollo and Kalpsn2000 :happy2:
