Just been over to the VW website and noticed the new VW passat.
Did a spec based on the SE 1.4 (122PS) TSI engine, including a few luxuries, and it "only" came to £22.5k
Also noticed that It had a few goodies that I've not seen before on other VW's (included within my specced vehicle).
Heated Windscreen (like fords have had for years)
Heated front AND rear seats.
Cruise Control with fatigue detection
Full size alloy spare (standard)
Bluetooth phone preparation - standard
Highline and MFSW standard
Drivers seat with electric 6 way adjustment - standard
17" alloys with tyre pressure monitoring - standard
Full colour Mutifunction display option.
Ok, I know most on here won't need a big car like a passat, andit's ONLY 122ps, but for a growing family, it seems you can buy a large family saloon, better equipped than an equally priced Golf !

Alot of kit for ya money there tbh :happy2:
I had heated windscreen on my 944 S2 it was amazing :pomppomp:

Does the 1.2 TSI come in a 6 speed manual box Andy?
Ta.
-
1.2??? mad what they can do these days. wonder what sort if miles these engines can do, most passats do mad miles a year.
-
a 1.2 TSI 122 in a Passat will be worth about £2.50 in 3 years time. That would be the biggest mistake ever. The best engine would be the 2.0 TDI 140 or keeping the budget down a little would be the 1.6 TDI 105.
-
One of my mates is getting one of these, in some new gold colour he says. Sounds a bit OAP to me though!
-
My Dad is waiting for a quote on a 1.6TDI Sport as he just needs it for cruising to work and back (100 miles a day) or maybe the Passat CC dependant on price.
-
Nice car, seats are very low spec tho!
You wait till you drive it.........thats were the reall tech has happened
-
Oops, corrected, meant 1.4 Tsi ( corrected above) :ashamed:
-
i take it this 1.2 TSI is supercharged and turbocharged like the 1.4TSI then, because 122hp is a good amount of power for a 1.2 if its not. Still woefully inadequate for a car of this size i think.
Id rather have the jetta i think. Which iirc actually has a bigger boot somehow!!
---edit---
justseen you changed it to a 1.4TSI. that seems more feasible lol.
-
Second hand they are a lot of car for the cash compared to a golf of similar vintage and mileage. Great cruising barges with lots of kit :happy2:
-
I think the new ones are veeery ugly and look too 'samey' to the rest of the VW line up. Brand identity I guess

To be fair they've had a 105bhp1.9tdi in the new shape since it came out. It's not all aout headline figures, it how and when the power is developed - should have a cracking midrange and excellent mpg.
It is crazy what they can do with small engines these days!
