I noticed today that in the handbook there is obviously an option for an auxillary heater. Does anyone have this and what does it heat exactly?
-
engine and cabin, i have one but haven't fitted it yet
-
When you say engine is it linked to the sump for heating the oil?

I think the one you're referring to is factory fit on most diesels as they take a long time to heat up. IIRC its a 2kw electrical heater for the cabin. Don't think its a customer option (in this country anyway) - just depends on the engine you have.

auxillary heater of TDI models:
Have a look here: http://www.golfmkv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=113468 :happy2:
Tools:

6mm socket
Parts:
PTC Heater 1K0 963 235 E
Cover 1K1 819 349 E (optional)
10 feet 4AWG wire
4x 4 AWG ring connectors
Electrical Tape/zip ties

My GTI has a 140 A generator as well.
There's a big difference between the two types of heaters
I don't understand:
heater Golf 5 TDI: 1K0 963 235 E - € 290,96 incl. VAT

Anybody knowing the reason?
