I have heard that this can be done on a Scirocco but can it be done on a MK5 Golf? Anything that makes the car a bit more stable is good news!
Has anyone done this?
-
Simple answer, Yes :happy2:
-
It works the same on the golf, the other option is to jack up from the sill using a pinch weld jack adaptor Like below

Audi dealers have them for about 15 squid I think, Make sure you stuff them in the correct hole under there. There are 2 holes on the fronts and it can easily be put in the wrong one ( ask JPC ) The design is such that once they are locked in with the weight of the car, they are not coming out without a serious fight. :rolleye:

I made one of these out of a block of wood, but mine is not the safest thing in the world.
I guess that's how I got the nickname bodger

Well there can be an issue with the Jack pads, there really meant for jacking the car up on a proper ramp, not one side at a time, some user have reported issues with bending the metal under them, mine are fine though.

Anyone know if this little mod would fit a MK2 Leon?
Is a very good mod, however I have never seen anyone talk of this on a MK2 Leon on the Seat forum.
I don't want to order the parts then find out it won't work.

Cant see why not, the floor is the same isnt it?

Yeah, I would assume so, however I have"nt had a chance to see under both cars, but after scrutineering Shauns photo's above I'm sure I could see if mine looked the same underneath.

does anyone have the part number for these ?

They cost £45 for the full kit at the dealers just now including vat and the covers, i ordered mine a couple of days ago ! Bargain !

I need to remove all 4 wheels for a week to get them refurbed. Where do I support the car?

Axle stands under the sills mate :happy2: Use 4 and make sure you raise the car onto them carefully

Two holes on the front? Do you meen the two holes at the rear and use the front one? Im confused.
Heres what i bought last week with prices for anyone interested
Ramp Lifting pads from Audi S3 RRP exc VAT
(x1) 8P0 802 845 Front Left Jack Pad £8.03
(x1) 8P0 802 846 Front Right Jack Pad £8.03
(x4) 8N0 804 583 Rubber Buffers £1.53 each
(x2) 8P0 802 847 Plastic Jack Pad Plugs £8.03 each
Sadly i did not get them fitted intime for my car to go into the dealers and i now have large bits of sealer scrapped off and hanging down from the inside of the jacking points on the front of the sills.
So are the back ones fitted on the holes nearest the front, Or the holes nearest the rear. As Teutonic_Tamer thread also shows the rear ones used. TTs thread on his fitted to his mk5 (http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=95479.10)

Cheers Davey.
Maybe I should of said, I'd bought and fitted a set ages ago.
I now find though that some garages can't get onto them and I can't get to them even with a low slung trolley jack. Car is on a set of Eibach Sportline springs, so must of lowered it too much for these to be of use for me really.

I just pulled the blanks out to fit the front ones and water came out the drivers side front one :surprised: anyone know if theres a drain for that box section somewere as thats not a good sign. :scared:
-
Thanks to this link i have ordered mine.
But not as lucky as you lot. I have to pay $150NZ with 20% discount.
None the less only arrive the end of the month. Will fitthem once I receive them.

OEM Audi S3 jack pads fit nice !!
A posting I did on another forum:
front:
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.aborek.de%2Fpics%2Fgolf6%2FJackpad_vorne.jpg&hash=298c2f96cd4b42f8c44f48b0dd8d4583dda2a2c5)
rear:

Fitting instruction is German, but the picturs tell the complete story:
http://www.a3quattro-forum.de/pdf/Wagenheberaufnahme.pdf (http://www.a3quattro-forum.de/pdf/Wagenheberaufnahme.pdf)
parts numbers:
8N0 804 583 rubber (4 x)
8P0 802 845 cover left front (1 x)
8P0 802 846 cover right front (1 x)
8P0 802 847 cover left + right rear (2 x)
Use some wax spray to conserve the body and silicon to help slip in.
Not the same:

http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?5110208-Do-These-Jack-Pad-Adapters-From-ECS-Really-Work
As you can see I prefer the S3 8P / TT 8J parts. Only these close the plastic trim!
