hijacking the thread here but how good are the products from myprotein. Any other rivals I should consider?

if you're just ordering generic stuff (glutamine, creatine, BCAAs etc.) then my protein is the cheapest and hence the best (because they're all exactly the same stuff if they're just a pure amino acid or whatever)
my mate used to have their whey but apparently it tasted horrible - i've only heard good things about the taste recently tho so maybe they've changed their formula
-
Thanks. I'm looking at getting whey powder. Probably the isolate stuff as lactose doesn't really go with my stomach. Ive had a taste and its not bad at all.

What would be a good low calorie whey protein? Cheap and to supplement a diet...

if that's all you wanna do just roast some chicken breast or boil some eggs and have some of that between meals
it's also worth noting that it's not strictly possible to have a "low calorie" whey protein. protein itself has a calorie content - most whey proteins have the objective of packing the most protein in as possible, which equates to more calories.
if you want less rubbish, Reflex was independently verified as having the most protein (i.e. the least rubbish) gram for gram - but it's not exactly cheap compared to some others.

^ Local corn fed chicken breast, basted with Maple syrup, special salts, roast in the oven for 20 minutes, plus wok fried baby sweetcorns with a mix of white and brown Basmati rice and a handful of sultanas.

Then you're not trying hard enough! No gain without pain?
I'm sure that Thor will offer you some personal training  - Send him a PM [only don't tell him I sent you]

I've been training for the last 3 years and I personally only use myofusion (gaspari) it's high (ish) calorie which is good for weight gain if your trying to get massive, I don't use creatine of anything like that..
A friend of mine who is a pro body builder never uses protein shakes or creatine or any other kind of supplements, he believes that it's all a waste of money and a proper diet will do better than a shake...and I have no reason to doubt him,
:stupid:
One thing I'll say is over the last 6 months the price of the stuff has gone boom!!!!

when you're on juice you don't even need to go to the gym :rolleye:
he's right in a sense, but considering that if you're training to put muscle on you need about 2g of protein per kg of body mass in my case that's 180g of protein and i'd struggle to get that from diet alone - i don't have that kind of time in my day to be constantly cooking, washing up and eating lol

Okay, guys, so are any of you training for any particular sport? Or any particular reason?
When I used to race bicycles (as an amateur) I used specific drinks and light weight trained in some of the worst winter months, but not as far as you guys seem to be doing.

I'm a member on protein.
I think you input an existing members referral code when registering your new account.
This will earn you triple points on your first order but not any physical discount.
You build up points towards discounts.
My referral code is
MP452673
If anyone wants to use it.
There is currently free delivery if you spend more than £50.
Thanks
Jason

I do it just for enjoyment, im into bodybuilding so im not doing any marathons or anything else like that, im not planning to compete too...may do at some point but for now it's just a hobby

As above really.
As Arnold put it, "bodybuilders are sculptors. We sculpt our own bodies." (paraphrasing, but you get the idea)
-
I'm just looking to put on some lean muscle and also stay fit cardiovascular and all.
Some of the stuff I wonder if it's a bit of a gimmick? I was going to get "impact whey isolate" and take twice a day. Immediately post workout and late afternoon/early evening. I was going to get "total protein" to use in the morning in order to have a steady stream of protein through the day.
I then was going to have a "night time" protein to tide me through the night. However I do wonder if this wouldnt be more or less same as the total protein with it's steadily digested proteins. Im no expert just trying to use common sense!
Pointers are very much welcome!

I hated the myprotein whey, now use BSN syntha 6 cookies and cream flavour. Best whey I've tasted and mixes so easily. I've tried quite a few over the years now and this is my favourite.
There was another brand I really liked, a cheaper reflex spin off but they closed down cant remember the name now but came in a white and purple bottle. Website link was sports nutrition.
