When driving in D and I floor it to activate the 'kickdown' sometimes it is scary fast and other times it seems flat.
I've watched and it always drops 2 gears.
I'm I doing something wrong.
Is there a certain way to use the 'kickdown' feature.
-
mines the same, i just use 'M'

It all depends how hard you press, its a 2 stage kickdown
With your car turned off... press the accelerator to the floor, you should feel a switch clicking at the very bottom.
When you press it fully down till the switch clicks then it will drop to the lowest gear possible, if you only press it so the switch doesnt click... is will change down maybe 1/2 gears depending and it will do it less aggressively.

Thanks richwig83.
I will try that tomorrow.
I try to be aware that I I'm pressing all the way down.
-
Also that kickdown past the switch point works in Manuel unless you have a DSG map.

I don't seem to hear a click when I press fully down!

It will just feel like a switch at the bottom.
Maybe no click.
Maybe before you clicked it and then another time you didn't?
Thats why not so aggressive?
