Hi all.
Looking for some help please?
At the mo im looking around for a ed 30 and looked at a few now. Had look at one last night which i really want, but when i had it running there was a funny ticking noise that ive not heard on any others.
Does any one have any ideas?

The TFSI do tend to sound like a skeleton w&nking in a bin on idle....

Normal I am afraid.
It gets a little better when warm.
Very Tdi like sometimes depending how warm outside!!!

Sounds a bit like a timing chain rattle.
The car was serviced last week at vw.
Also its had bluefin on it b4 xmas which he now as removed.

If it sounds like a bird stuck in your engine (feathered variety) could need new Cam Belt & Roller. should be done 4yrs or 80,000. just had it done :happy2:

faulty cam belt tensioner's are common on the tfsi engine, especially from cold. The noise could be the cam belt slapping about whilst cold. I had mine changed under warranty, there is quite a lot of info on here if you do a search. Its worth asking if it has been replaced, its a costly job to have done as the scope of work is the same as having a belt changed. Obviously if ignored a broken belt will cost a lot more.
If its not the tensioner sticking, and the car oil level is correct (and the right grade) then relax, the TFSI does sound like a diesel on tick over :confused:
