Started looking at these the other week after thinking "what would be better than a V10?" - A V10 twin turbo
Saloon versions, fully loaded, low mileage are looking tempting.
650bhp with a remap and a zorst
This one looks quite tasty.

After all, I only do around 6-7k miles a year

oooh very nice John--think that bhp is more you
-
POOOWWWEEEEERRRRRRRRRR :jumping:
-
Nice choice John but have you thought about the S8 at all? Same lambo tt engine but more standard spec.

.
The term "better" is somewhat subjective. The RS6 is a massive saloon car and quite different to either the TTRS or the RS3. However, knowing you as I do, I expect you're principally asking which is "better" in performance. If you ask on the VAGOC forum you'll probably find some guys with experience of the RS6 who can give you some real-world info, John :happy2:

The S8 was without turbo's when I drove one.

Very nice  Personally, I would have the wagon  Now I just need to find 50k...
-
It take the RS6 over the TTRS and RS3 all day long. absolute gorgeous motor
id have the S8 though
-
something different?

Ps RS6 IMO is a belter. Colleagues lad has one, and the noise!

A guy in work has the S5 in white and that looks stunning. need to find out who owns it
-
Loving that John :happy2:
-
My mate works at the audi training centre in Milton Keynes and he said the RS5 is by far the best RS car Audi make.
-
I was led to believe its audis most powerful car?
The r8 is the fastest I believe.
But RS6 the most powerful.
-
Why dont you stop messing about and get an R8?

He will be the only one then.
Just about every reviewer in the land has slated it.
-
Indeed, the word wooden springs to mind. isn't that how evo described it??
-
RS6 always hits my spot! and would look pretty sweet sideways at the ring :signLOL:
-
.
Sportec RS6 Avant (gotta be Avant!) trumps the lot I reckon.
-
:party:You know you want to John
-
I say V8 RS6 leaving plenty in the pot for some unsubtle mods
-
Im sorry but if i had the choice of a RS3 or a RS6 it would be the RS6 all day long they are one of my dream cars to own! Stunning cars sound awsome! Buuuut! Ide have to have the avant! Its all about a big old u boat that pushes everything out the way whist having a shetland pony, surf board, and 3 kids n a wife in the back! RS6! do it!
-
I must be out of date ... I thought you had a Lexus IS-F ?
-
Do it Do it Do it :driver: :driver:
My friends owns a black RS6 avant with a DMS remap, apparently its running approx 710bhp! The car is immense!!!
He also owns an 2008 911 turbo that is for sale as he prefers the RS6!

Dont be silly you arent getting 650hp with a map and zorst.
Try 780hp with a map zorst and filter!
-
If you want something silly John my mate has a B5 RS4 with over 750bhp plus computer controlled 250bhp nitro's system. Its just being finished off at the moment, its also had a full bare metal re-spray in the original black, RS6 Brembo's, H&R Coilovers and stupid amounts spent on the engine.

The RS6 is a beast of a car, weighs in at the two ton mark even in saloon spec.
Vagtech tuning with an air intake and catback system gives over 700bhp :chicken:
http://www.vagtech.co.uk/index.php/tuning/audi/rs6-v10
I wouldn't like to think what the mpg is though
-
However if I had rs6 money id get a used 911 turbo instead.
RS6 vs TTRS etc is a completely different car. For pure straightline pace and comfort id go with the rs6, for track work, 1/4 mile its gotta be the TTRS. The RS6 wont be able to stretch its legs till the higher speeds over a equally modded ttrs.
There is a evotech modded rs6 which is as quick as a the 458 italia on youtube when doing silly speeds.
You could still buy a TTRS and get 600hp from it for the same price as that rs6 though john. :happy2:

*back*
Couldn't I send an Rs6 for some Underground racing treatment? They should get 1,000 whp no bother :driver:

If you can wait till june at the latest, the kits should have been developed and on cars. We should see the first true 500hp+ TTRS in 2-3 months, the more powerful 580-600hp kit another month or two from that.
Then with some real gps verified figures you can make youre decision.
Im only going for around 530hp myself though.
-
ONLY 530bhp Pov?
Is that still on the original turbo?
Edit - just thought to myself....that is more than the R8 V10 and deffo more torque :surprised:

Hybrid turbo, bigger turbine wheel, to increase flow and reduce exhaust gas backpressure amongst some other bits.
The current output we are seeing from the stock turbo is still being limited by the weak dv and restrictive 25mm dv port. Forge are working on a solution.

Hybrid dryer, bigger Straightenersl, to increase flow and reduce time to get ready to go out and split ends.
The current output we are seeing from the stock dryer is still being limited by the shampoo used and ginger wig used. Gok Wan is working on a solution.
Blimey Pov!
Ps only jesting! :P
No animals were hurt in this post, but mucho Ciddderr was supped! The headache from which will be as welcome as a Ginger Step-child!
