Title: Climate control

Guys,

Hopefully picking up a MK5 GT140 on Saturday, looking at the pictures on the advert it has a standard climate control set up, unlike the dual zone climatronic system fitted in the GTi (and also my vRS).  Anyway, I have been perusing the bay and I have stumbled on this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-GOLF-MK5-CLIMATE-CONTROL-UNIT-CLIMATRONIC-1K0907044K-/110441312150?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item19b6d0af96 The question is, will it be a straight swap out for the non climatronic controller? I will obviously need to get a new facia but as far as the wiring and function will it be a plug and play....maybe with a bit of VCDS coding!

In a word............no!

Its a completely different set up. It can be done but its a lot of work  :happy2:

Was hoping to do the same but saw a thread about all the work that is required and said, No way..  :rolleye:
