For those who missed the excellent prog "When Playboys Ruled The World" - Examining the careers of James Hunt and Barry Sheene - It's on again tonight on ITV4 @ 9:00pm.
It really was a great prog and not to be missed. I might even watch it again, afterall it brings back memories from that time. There used to be a Playboy club in London - Those were the days I played BlackJack.. Nearly every day!
-
Barry Sheene, now there was a man!
Ill be watching as the wife is out on the town and I had nothing else to do.
Well one thing....................................... :signLOL:
-
.
Yep, I'm more of a Barry fan than a Hunt one. As I posted in the old thread about this prog, I once had lunch with Barry and Stephanie (ultra sultry eye-candy but a bit dull imo) through a mutual friend.
As an enthusiast you def will enjoy this prog. :happy2:

Spoke to bazza once coming out of a race track I can't remember where. and I'd broke down on my Kawasaki kh500 3cylinder and he told me to ride it but at very low revs.... Made my weekend never mind day.... Bazza you were a LEGEND :notworthy: :notworthy:
-
Yep Bazza, Joey Dunlop etc etc all legends.
Please don't start talking about classic two strokes.
I promised the wife I wouldn't get another bike!

I'm now wondering if I'm still the oldest oldie on this site
-
Just a young 48yo but my dementia has not kicked in fully yet.... Only when it suits :drinking:

.
Phew! I'm still the oldest then (63yo) :happy2:

I must admit Barry was a bit of a hero for me.
My parents took me to the '79 British GP at Silverstone when I was little and we watched him vs Kenny Roberts.
I will be recording this for sure. :happy2:

Mr Hunt-Maybe had 'dealings' with 5000 women!
That is mental.
It was good.
Barrys era was a little before my biker days.
I was around more the Kevin Schwantz(who I met at Goodwood this year, I nearly fell over)Wayne Rainey/Doohan/Gardner/Lawson era.
39 years old.
At the TT at 14.
I think thats when the petrol entered my veins.
