Fast forward to 0:34

I think you've answered your own question there Rich :rolleye:

With a tyre warning light on aswell............TW&T comes to mind :fighting:
-
But i'm sure i read the pistons/ gearbox nor the body shell couldn't hope with such speed?
-
WIth enough horsepower it probably can but I'm not sure I would like to be behind the wheel. :scared:
-
its restricted by the gearbox and the standard rev limits though, so to pull of that speed id bet it needs loads of uprated internals to allow it to rev alot higher
-
I've had 168mph out of mine with the GPS. The speedo was off the needle too at over 180. :laugh:
Depends how inaccurate the speedo is at a guess. I reckon that clip was a solid 170mph on a GPS, which would put the needle off the end of the speedo :driver:
-
In 6th it will pull 27mph per 1000rpm so the maths is fairly straightforward. :wink:
-
My old Ibiza pulled 172mph gps. I would have thought most 2+ cars could pull 160mph +?
-
Even true 420 HP is not enough for a speed of real 300 km/h with a Golf.
You have to drive a hill down to reach this speed. Next problem: gearbox and rpm.

I had about the same downhill on the German autobahn. I remenber, even if I realy had to focus on my driving, that I saw 275km/h (about 172mph) at the GPS and the car was still going a little bit faster. Then I saw 7200rpm on the tachometer in 6th gear that is about 290km/h (180mph) at the speedometer. That's bloody fast even more on a bumpy two lane higway, with curves!!! :driver:
My car is about 300Hp
That said, I made some simulation based on real A3 speed recorded with several type of engine ans it seems that maximum real speed achievable with an A3 on flat road is:
300Hp => about 260km/h 160Mph
350Hp => about 270km/ 170Mph
400HP => about 280km/h 175Mph
To reach 300 real km/h 190Mph you will need about 600Hp!!!

Ah Mihnea working his magic as usual by the looks of it

186mph gps verified in a stage 2 TTRS.
194mph in a 470hp TTRS with raised limiter.

Your s-tronic in 7th, can get you up to 240mph iirc, if you have enough power. Dont think even I would be crazy enough to try that though :signLOL:

So you'll need 1200 in a Golf. :signLOL:
Ok ok, the Golf is as aerodynamic as a van, but 650 should be enough.
Some magazines had HGP R32 BiTurbos measured in Nardo. I'll try to
finde one of them.

A TT is more aerodynamic than an A3 or a Golf
