Here's my Ebay story...
Sold my daughters 7 month old mobile as she got a Blackberry for xmas, winning buyer received phone and left positive feedback. nice smooth transaction i thought. 2 weeks later i receive an email saying that i should have listed the phone as faulty as the number 5 key does not work, if this was the case im sure my teenage daughter would have noticed (we all know how much texting they do).
Anyhow i sent an apology and said i was unaware of the fault, and if they returned the phone and i found that it was faulty i would refund their money. Received phone back today and all serial numbers and IMEI numbers match, but the phone i had sent out did have a very noticeable chip in the casing,(which i posted a photo on the original listing) but this one didn't so what they have done is swapped keypad and casing from my working phone and sent back phone with broken keypad. Ive sent the buyer an email telling them of my findings and also contacted Ebay to see how i stand.
So now im wanting for a response from the A**HOLE

you'll find its stacked in the buyers favour whatever happens :sad1:
-
as VC says, buyer's marketplace ebay, sellers always get shafted!
-
The photos i have clearly show that they have sent back a different phone

Hope you sort it, that is awful but just cos you post a pic doesn't mean you actually HAVE the item.....just see some of Red Robins vw babes posts lol. Not sure how that plays out legally though. Good luck mate don't give up.

.
I'm afraid that it's common stories like this that totally put me off eBay. That's unless I already know the seller. I don't even feel like selling anything myself on eBay.
-
Its always the decent folk who get f*kd over, not that I encourage such acts as revenge, and not that its worth it over a 2nd hand phone but you do know where said person lives :innocent:
Did they send it back to you recorded delivery? if not what a shame the item went missing in the post. again... :innocent:

I simply stopped selling anything like this on eBay

Unfortunately buying and selling phones is a nightmare on eBay.
The other thing that really pisses me off is people winning bidding your item and then not paying.
I have a feeling it is people with the same item for sale, putting a silly bid in so yours is dearer than theirs so everyone flocks to their item.
They really need to bring back negs for buyers IMHO.
Back to you though have you checked the IMEI number in the phone by pressing that hash star combo?

Yes checked seriaL numbers and IMEI number which match what i sent, so basically they took the phone apart to get working keypad for there's just looking on ebay you can get replacement keypads for under a tenner, what a TOSSER
This was the second time i listed it first winning bidder who after winning the item emailed me to say he had changed his mind and did not want it now.. :stupid:

OP poster stated "Received phone back today and all serial numbers and IMEI numbers match".

so very very true, would clean up ebay a little

Yes but I was just checking that he hadn't looked at the sticker either on the box or underneath the battery!

I can recommend using the Live Chat with an eBay Agent thing in order to try and resolve the matter. I had an issue recently where I sold a bike but the bum hole buyer didn't pay up nor would he have the courtesy to return any messages or e-mails outlining his intentions. I got on the ol' live chat thing and the matter got sorted in my favour promptly without having to sit about waiting for them to read e-mails. There are so many people out there that cause utter frustration for others who deserve to receive a turd in the post!

the live chat isnt live its an automated 'intellegent responce via keyword'
i've battled with them many many times  and always lost :sad1:
even when you accuse it of not being human it stumbles and automates its responce and IF you manage to get past that stage you only get an operator who clicks an answer from a list
live chat? nope...johnny 5 is not alive
you want results, call them :happy2:

I didn't know that VC! I assumed there was a real person at the other end when I had to wait 40 minutes for an "agent" to respond and then he introduced himself and gave very specific answers to very specific questions. Well well!

there is automated live chat where they respond to your question type and also live chat with an actual person, calling is an option but you get offshore, I have used both of the later options as I had 2 tw$ts just before xmas that gave negative feedback which resulted in my trusted seller being removed both had bought items then said they didn't recieve them and wanted compensation of dearer items free of charge from my other items, there are certain buyers who are wise to ebays rules and will bend them in their favour and try and blackmail sellers as they know negative feedback can seriously affect their selling as this did with me.
Empty your paypal as they will freeze it and keep and show ebay all your evidence no matter how trivial. I got my top seller reinstated but its cost me a lot of sales and hassle. But shortly these people will recieve something else from the postman :booty:
-
I spoke to Ebay and they said to do nothing until the other party make a complaint and then i will be asked to prove my case. I've had no response from the buyer as yet obviously didn't think i would realise!
-
Am I right in saying that once a buyer has left you positive feedback, there's not a lot they can do?

Tried to flog mine on pistonheads over crimbo and within 10mins of going on I received a word perfect mail off a petro chemical off shore engineer who loves my car and it's for his bro etc ... Paypal account etc agent will pick up.. Etc Then scam warning off PH.... So sent nasty mail back to the petro chemical engineer .... and let's just say his well written English grammar slipped somewhat. :booty: jokers.... Nearly put wa##ers but thought better of it :fighting:
