For those with the full system, what did you pay (res and non res) and where did you get it
-
hey mate.
i got the r32 style milltek exhaust system for the GTi. Cat back system which came in two different sections.
Non resonated centre section was £89.50 (not inc VAT)
r32 style rear silencer £365.20 (not inc VAT)
http://www.millteksport.com/exhaust.products.cfm?variantid=159
^^ Thats all the different systems milltek offer so have a gander and find your nearest stockist.
Hope this helps.
-
i live about 5 mins from Miltek but i was told they dont fit them, although recently i heard different
-
....
Cost? - It was 2005 so I don't remember. Actually, I still wouldn't remember if it was earlier this year.
From Awesome and fitted by Ray West, Thruxton race circuit.

....I know Milltek very well (I was even speaking to them this morning) - They do NOT fit them at Milltek unless it's sorting out an aftersales issue. The factory premises and facilities need all their resources for product development and manufacture.
They have a dealership and fitting network throughout the world.
HTH :happy2:
-
didn't get a full system ( i want a different cel cat or maybe de cat ) but the price for R32 style backbox and centre pipe was less than £500 notes Shaun.
Its funny you guys say they dont fit but they fitted mine for me !
Awesome service i would not consider anyone else from now on, also there costs are amazing, much cheaper than higher priced, lesser qaulity systems !
-
Try Awesome or roadrunner in notts, think they give you a fitting allowance or something
-

Roadrunner want £1014.00 inc vat. (not fitted), JBS want £1280.93 inc VAT fitted , thats £260+ to fit :scared:
-
Shaun did you ring up Phil Millington/Dave Marshall in Derby @ Milltek, send him a email or ring him ?
definatly speak to Phil, Dave or Charlie (accounts manager)
Milltek number is
1332 2227280

....They definitely don't usually fit new customer's exhausts as a rule, but the exception makes the rule.
:happy2:

£880 cash from roadrunner (always worth asking ;) ) and then £70 fitting at SportTech in Ilkeston.

lol, its not real, they quoted me £1014 today, im guessing he means they may knock the vat off
-
I called them up - asked how much for pound notes if I came and collected that day - and £880 is what I paid :happy2:
-
wow, will have to try that
-
just thought, the normal GTi is less than the edition 30 iirc
-
im guessing he means they may knock the vat off
.....Hushhhh! That's not the sort of info to make public.
You're just guessing! Remember?
-
vat, did i say vat, i mean reduced the cost by 17.5% for being a mk5golfgti.co.uk member

£270 for fitting is a joke Sean, it shouldn't tale any longer than an hour and a half tops. Got my whole system from Roadrunner and bartered for the best price!

....Indeed it shouldn't, BUT, VAG cars are built as tight as a nun's nasty! We had to drill out some of the fixings and the job took several hours.

thats because they had to fix it to a carbon engine. :fighting2:

I can see that might be a potential issue but as my car was/is like new it wasn't a problem, and if you get a quote and they happen on a problem it shouldn't make it more expensive
-
ED30 system was around £1150 all in from Awesome from memory. Then they fitted my headlights for free at the same time 8)

....My car was only a few months old when it had its first Milltek. But, you're right - A fixed price quotation would safeguard you.

Ok, JBS have now come back with £1,117.50 , getting better, but still not there LOL
anyone know if JBS do cash deals

well, with people sourcing the actual exhaust for about £880 ,i would add a bit more as i want an ed30 one, and resonated , but i reckon about the 1k mark is about right :happy2: , i say this as my old forum did a group buy where the miltek exhaust was provided and fitted for about that
-
Shaun you definatly going for the Milltek downpipe and 200cel HJS cat ?
-
Shaun you definatly going for the Milltek downpipe and 200cel HJS cat ?
i hope to yeh, just want a good price
-
Shaun if you get the zorst I can always ask my man how much to fit? Would mean a trip to Brum but you'll enjoy the journey back
-
I got mine silly cheap, but it cost me £150 notes to get it fitted.. :surprised: Can be a bitch to fit the DP apparently..
Cat back shouldn't cost much to fit at all..
-

^^^ :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P^^^

yeh, less cells in the 100 one, which i guess free's up the breathing more, and makes it a little louder

Thanks 182. Understand what you are going on about now! :happy2:
-
Will a 100cel one pass the MOT emissions test though?
-
Will a 100cel one pass the MOT emissions test though?
not sure on the Golf, but on other marques they can and do pass the MOT
-
....
I think that all Milltek systems are designed and produced to pass the MOT. Except of course the track cars such as VW Racing.
-
Will a 100cel one pass the MOT emissions test though?
should od but yyou do hear off the odd case, where it will fail or the CEL will come on .
-

thet will do a price match !! tell them you been quoted £1000 and i ll bet they ll match it , get lee to fit it he s a good guy :happy2:
-
have you tried that ?
-
So what's your best fitted price so far Shaun?, I have just been quoted £1100 for the Res version by APS.
-
You don't want the res version mate, won't be much louder than you have now..........
-
You don't want the res version mate, won't be much louder than you have now..........
That's what I originally though but Ed @ APS took me out in his ED30 with the Non-Res today and it was way louder that I expected, at normal Mway speeds the drone would start to get to me (bearing in mind I spend at least 2.5 hours a day on the motorway during the week).
He even said himself if he had the choice again he would go for the res version for a daily driver road car.

Have a go in mine before you decide then :happy2:
-
^^^ Thats sounds like a good idea :happy2: as compairing APS's ED30 with non-res to RedRobin's GTI with the Quad Non-Res, the one on APS was way louder (same driving style on the same bit of road today)
I know they are different cars (i.e. K03 GTI vs. K04 ED30) but I was really surprised by how much.
-
As I've said before with the loud pedal pressed mine has a great sound, but when not it sounds like the original (from memory) and I certainly don't find it boomy at motorway speeds, but you do a heck of a lot more miles than I do! :happy2:
-
^^^ Exactly when the loud pedal is pressed I want the right noise  but without the boomy/drone type noise I heard on Ed's today.
We shall have to sort this forum meet out so I have had a listen to yours :happy2:
-
It's worth trying before you buy mate!
We could always meet up before hand if the meet isn't sorted quick enough for you. I should be on commision from Milltek what with you and Markymark
-
You are certainly a good advert from them thats for sure.
So when Marky short arm's going to be getting his then, I look like I have approval for early Decmeber
-

Not sure about Flora as he can't decide wether he wants a re-map, and exhaust or new wheels  :nerd:

Not sure the money I have in my wallet is legal tender any longer! I have a fair few fifty's that are about the size of an A4 sheet of paper if thats any good?!?!?!
-
....
Steve - Just a note to say that my having Quads doesn't make an audibly recognisable difference to the sound.

I didn't think it would TBH, Thanks again for your time today Robin :happy2:
-
....
I forgot to tell you, Steve, that Ed is going to check with Milltek about size of downpipe - 3" or 2.75" - Because he thinks that might be what makes the sound difference.
-
Poor MR Geek dont bother resisting, you now have 3 to 4 weeks before approval in this time the said Nath and Robin will lambaste you into submission  resistance is futile.
Just go for the non res and be done.
I dont see the problem with the extra boom just turn your DVD's up a little louder.
-
Bump :rolleye:
Did you get anywhere with this Shaun, if so what was the best price you found and are you going ahead with it?
-
I have seen one or two of these snap the rear engine mount, Awesomegti sell a uprated rear mount I dont know if that will help stop it
-

the exhaust snaps an engine mount ?
-
from what I understand, the rear exhaust mount just behind the engine, its like a twin pronged fork thing, can snap if the dogbone insert isn't added to stop a little engine movement, not the engine mounts
-
^^^^
It's as gaz says.
Didn't I post a pic earlier in this thread?
If an engine mount broke you would definitely know about it!!
-
Sorry yes the bracket

-
thats good to know
Well done Miltek :happy2:
