I'd personally have a pop at the Vreds. Rated them better than the Eagle F1 Assyms i had previous

About 310bhp with smiliar torque. I liked them in the wet too :happy2:
It's a shame the prices have shot up since christmas though :sad1:
-
is it any particular model of vreds or is it just a standard tyre? cheers kieron
-
Yeah the ULTRAC SESSANTA :happy2:
-
No complaints here from my vreds, a very good tyre imo. Would definitely buy them again.
-
Another vreds vote here, had 2 sets, and spot on, no complaints.
-
+ another one for the Ultrac Sessantas.
Had 3 sets now and can't fault them, as said shame the price has gone from £75 to £100 since the first set.
-
id say zz3, always done me well in wed and dry!
-
I got a set of 4 Vreds off ebay last july for £324. Very glad I did, Great wheels and no probs here.
-
Had 4 new vreds fitted in the Ed30 last week, absolutely superb :happy2:

Whats the wear like on the Vreds? i always trusted falken FK's on my A4quattro but on 2wd :driver: sh*tty pants time!!!
tried toyo's but they wear real quickly :ashamed: yeah, yeah, I need to drive a little slower and stop the wheels spinning! :P
I was looking at getting a set of Eagle F1 Assy's but they're salty prices at the mo too! £110 each i think was the best local and £105 or so from camskil???
saying that, all rubber is quite expensive but which is gonna give the edge on wet/ dry grip over wear????
-
Seems quite a heavy vote for Vreds. Are PS2 worth the extra 15quid or so a corner?
-
Have a look at my car tommorow Rich.
I have them on mine :happy2:
-
Put Falken 452's on the R and really liking them now they've scrubbed in.

I dont think they are up to 2wd punishment. I've got them on the front of mine and they are pants.... understeer/wheelspin city!
-
i had some falken ze912 recently they were spot on quiet too
-
Love vreds, gutted the prices have gone up recently. Looks like I'll be going back to goodyear f1 assymetricals as at £74 a tyre fitted (dads goodyear pension discount), I can't justify the extra cost of the vreds
-
just ordered a pair of vreds...£100 each with free delivery
-
where did you get them from?
I'm after a pair and I couldnt find them at that price!

Elite direct have them for £100.80 (225/40/18), or for £102 (235/40/18). Same price on their website and through ebay.

Thanks mandy, just ordered 2 :happy2:
-
What size are you getting the Goodyears for that price? Mine cost an extra £10 per corner nearly 2 yr ago. And the tread is still okay. Not great in the wet if really pushed, but maybe it's the way I'm used to lighter cars and chucking em at corners? Cracking in the dry though :happy2:
-
elite is where mine are coming from...... a good price with free p&p
-
The Goodyears are 225/45 r18's. Just as good as the vreds, just don't look as cool and I'm sure the vreds are lasting much longer?!
-
If you`re buying tyres off the `net how much is it costing you to get them fitted and balanced?
Are you better going to a local tyre place or using someone like ATS?

I pay £20 for 4 tyres to be fitted and balanced, but I know some places like ATS,Kwickfit ect charge much more as they make the money on the tyres not the fitting.
Some have been quoted £30 a corner.
Best to find somewhere to fit them before ordering online really and work out costs.
My last Vreds cost me £360 plus £20 fitting/balancing so stilll under £100 a corner for a decent tyre IMO.

Slightly off topic....about 1999 i had a BMW (sorry) which had 235/40 x 17's I had 4 tyres fitted , they were Goodyears and think were NCT2's they were over £200 a tyre ! and that was with a 20% kwik fit (new retail unit opening ) discount . Tyres do seem cheaper now , £100 for a 225/40 x 18 seems fantastic especially as the previous posters say they are a good tyre. What tread depth do these start with as that can have some influence as some manufacturers start with different depths from new
-
I've never measured the new depth of the Vreds as my Bridgestone gauge never turned up :signLOL: but I would say their the full 8mm.

YES
