Title: Hello, just started looking for mkV GTI

Hello,

Thought I'd introduce myself, bit of a VW nut, just started looking a getting a used mkV GTI to use to keep the miles off my VW Camper, Looking around at the classifieds and Autotrader I thought what I was looking for would be quite common but there doesn't seem to be many around in this spec:

- 5 door, around 2005/2006
- In red, silver or black
- manual
- with heated seats (but not leather as I quite like the tartan check as it reminds me of my old mk2 16v  :smiley: )

Out of hundreds on the trader website there's only 2 or 3 that fit the bill. The heated seats seem to be the hard bit which is a bit of a must as it pacifies SWMBO.  I was wondering if anyone had fitted them afterwards, the US mkV site seems to have mixed views on this, are there any companies in the UK that will do this for you?

I believe one or two on here have retro fitted the heated seats, but if my memory serves me right its not just plug and play. I cant remember the chaps name who has done this recently.  :ashamed:

Hello and welcome Carl.  Have you had a look in the Classified ads on www.pistonheads.com ?   There's a load more cars on there.

Thanks, I've had a good trawl through Pistonheads and Autotrader, there's three I've found so far but the nearest is 153 miles away from me  :surprised:

Hi and welcome.

That's a fairly loose set of criteria. You shouldn't have much problem finding your perfect car. :happy2:

That's what I'm hoping, I went to see a 2005 car yesterday at the local dealers, definitely want the cloth interior it looks much better in the flesh than in pictures, flash photography makes it look very light grey.
