Title: gti pirelli exhaust
Post by: bjbpirelli on February 05, 2011, 11:18:19 am
Hi,

I recently have purchased a gti pirelli and am unsure of the colour of the exhaust as its filthy. Are they meant to be chrome? I dont think they guy who owned it before me ever cleaned the pipes.

Whats the best thing to use to clean them?

Thanks for any help!

Have a read through this mate http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,20466.0.html (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,20466.0.html) :happy2:

But save yourself the effort and use it as an excuse to get a new Miltek system :signLOL:

Get some wire wool, and also some autosol, 20 mins should have it sparkling, mine was filthy when I bought it after 50 000 miles and hadn't been cleaned, but that got it sparkling.
( then I changed it to a milltek anyway!)

Personally found engine degreaser removed most of the crud, allowing autosol to work its magic and leave an awesome shine. Use 0000-grade wirewool if you have to use it, the buff with a microfibre or two.
