Title: K&N Typhoon air intake kit - 18BHP increase - Sceptical?
Post by: bodger00 on February 06, 2011, 12:10:30 pm
Has anyone fitted one of these? They retail for approx £225 and claim to give 18BHP on a standard car with only the air filter swopped.

I'm a bit sceptical.....what do you think?

I guess you would also need a remap after fitting one of these??

I'd say the figures are very dubious.

My ginormous BDM intake made an extra 5bhp max, however, a magical 33 lbft Torque! :surprised: :jumping:

I used this kit on my own gti for a few weeks.

I actually found that there was not a hell of alot of difference between DP and standard map with the K&N on as it was with DP and standard intake and Stage 2 APR.
