Title: 'screech'

hi all i fitted my itg maxogen yesterday and when i took it for a test drive im getting a screech, high pitched wistle between 3k-4k it seems louder when under load.
any ideas what could cause this?

Ooh, my dbilas used to do this. Replaced it with the ITG unit. Make sure you've tightened up all the clips over metal and there are no leaks anywhere, especially where it mounts onto the OEM hardware.

i think it may just be a sound you get when you fit an intake fella, i know twintakes make the same noise on Wot

my neuspeed did the same... didnt like it so have taken it off....

i was thinking the diverter valve may have a split in it so was gonna try a rev d and see if that stops it

Could you describe the noise as 'blowing (oooh err) down a recorder too hard?"  It is a weird harmonic noise.

I think this is fairly common in some intakes. Especially the Neuspeed P-flo

Get the same sound with my ITG -bit scary at first but i really love it now . Get the right bit of road or tunnel  , wind down the windows and put your foot down - it screams like a banshee!Luv it ! :laugh:

....My Twintake doesn't - Not a 'screech'. I interpret the word screech to mean a sound which is harsh and metallic like some brakes can do (not mine).

i sometimes get a slight flute/whistle noise from mine as above ^^,  i just guessed the the Op described the whistle as a screech  :happy2:

put the flute away  :signLOL: :signLOL:
