Hi would anyone know can you fit MK5 golf brakes on a mk4,
My Nephew just bought a mk4 2003 GTI with 50k miles and likes the idea off fitting my Red set as long as it is not to much hassel . thx

They didn't sell then.................?

I have had several offers and I am sticking to my guns on these if some one wants them my price is £145 plus post or collection its a take it or leave it deal .I would rather give them away to some one deserving than have Some one try and get them for pin money.
They have done the mileage stated and are mega clean the VW fitter said like new so it pay up or jog on .
If you want to see pics thats fine .Did you not buy a old used set with big miles on ??.

No I bought a set with new pads and disks for £100.
Everything was there bolts, lines, dust shields ect and the guy even met me halfway to collect them.
I got the rears from someone else on here for £45.
The condition of the calipers didn't bother me as I'll be having the powder coated black.

Nope mk5 brakes will not fit on a mk4. Different hubs etc.

I and a few other tried to 'advise' you that the price was a touch high as a couple of other sets had sold for less.
Now how much you sell your brakes for is your business but I'd of though £100 in your hand is better than a set of brakes sitting in your garage ...
And yes I didn't meet Phil he met up with a mate as I was unavailable at the time but still he got of his arse and made an effort to sell something.
End of story and 'GLWTS' :happy2:

Im not sure if they will fit to be honest. I know that some mk4s used the 312mm disc and i think the caliper is the same but wether the carrier bolt locations as the same youd have to check.

Come on guys brake it up now. ( see what i did there) :innocent:
There is no point going over the price of something. If he is charging to much they wont sell. Market forces decide the price not the seller or the buyer. :happy2: let it drop please guys. :drinking:

i asked this question a while back on a mk4 forum, but DER!! as my gf has a mk4 anni-it has 312 brakes anyway :stupid: :sad1:

FWW , I think they just sold with in a hour somewhere else full asking price. Funny thing is taking advice from a buyer when you are selling .I have no problem with MR Apollo voicing his opinion on price just think its strange ,
Like I said from the start Guys what are they worth ? you told me I advertised for that and then get told i was being greedy ?? Funny when the advice was coming from people wanting who were wanting to buy them any way I am happy to let them go for what i think is a fair price .
Sorry TC just had to clear it up maybe you could lock the thread now.
