Title: Exhaust valance
Post by: Gtiain on February 12, 2011, 01:14:27 pm
To the people who have colour coded the rear bumper, I just wanted to know if anyone has painted the bottom part black (the bit with the exhausts) and if so matte or gloss? It's just my bumper has faded a bit. Cheers any input and pics would be greatly appreciated! Cheers   :happy2:

I opted for matte black when I had mine done, gave it a nice contrast to the gloss of the upper half of the bumper I thought. It's down to personal preference though, I know some people have it gloss black.

Have you got a pic? Thanks.

I reckon I'm gonna do this too. Would love an r32 valance or the stupidly priced ed30 but it's too much given I'm thinking of selling in 2012.

So, away goes the milly quads and silly abt valance,  on goes a milly twin (or stock cat back) and I'll be going to the stealers for the above in tornado red and gloss black. gonna start this mod after I pay for my insurance next month I reckon  :happy2:

No the gti bumper doesn't come with reflectors, they only appear on the r32 bumper.  :happy2:

These are the price and part numbers of the parts needed from the dealers;

R32 Bumper- 1k6807433CGRU - £197.31

R32 Black panel(around exhaust) - 1k68075689B9 £100.60

R32 Reflectors - 1K6945105A & 1K6945106B - £14.34 each

Tow eye cover - £1k6807441E9B9 - £5.17

You could prob get them cheaper second hand. Obviously you would also need to price up a next exhaust. Hope this helps.  :happy2:

Yeah I agree, I think the central exhaust exit looks so much better than to the left on gti's. Just a bit pricey at the moment but will definatly be getting it done before too long.  :happy2:
