i am in the process of buying a highline , i have been told i need to match the part number with a 7. is there an easy way of finding the part number without taking the speedo out??
-
Scan with VCDS. If you don't have it it takes 20 secs to pull the cluster.
-
cheers , i dont. really?? i thought it was a steering wheel off job??
-
No mate,
Just lower the steering wheel to the lowest position and pull it as far is it will go.
Remove the trim infront of the cluster, undo the 2 screws and slide it out.
FYI you don't need to match your highline to your midline.
I had a 962 midline and replaced it with a 971 highline....

Then plug highline in, VCDS, and job done? Thought it was much harder than that!!

No that is not how to fit a highline! Well its is but along with a bit of coding.
The OP wanted to know how to get the part number of his existing cluster without using VCDS............
