Title: Machine Polishing a roof.
Post by: johnhol78 on February 14, 2011, 04:45:45 pm
Right, I've experience machine polishing (spears and jackson rotary polisher) and got some great results on my Celica.

Never tackled the roof - just stuck to the bonnet, boot and sides.

Now I'm going to be tackling the GTi as the sun was out today and it needs some correction...nothing major just some light swirls....

With the roof, how should this be tackled...obviously the same as the bonnet, small squares taoped off and done slowly as per usual though it;s the height.....step ladders??

If you're vertically-challenged (like me) then yes, steps/stepladders. You need to be able reach to just over halfway.

Thing is I'm 6 3 and still feel that you'd be stretching.

You need to be over the top or almost to have proper control.

Roof done and was very easy. Not as much of a stretch as I thought. Seem to have got it in my head it was much taller than my old celica and BMW.

Job done.
