Good read that. Some of the comments were quite strong.
I can't help feeling that Chris Harris (EVO writer) may have burnt his prancing horse bridges.
-
Looks as though he careth not!
-
I wonder if he will do a review on the FF
-
TBH I'm not surprised by Ferrari's antics. I wonder what kind of deal they have with Top Gear.

They provide the Stig as it's Schumacher
-
My mate used to work for Honda in the department that prepared press cars.
Basically blueprinted engines and extra soundproofing so the road testers loved them. If you have ever been in an Accord Type-R you will understand why.
-
they do go over the top, my dad had to sign countless documents saying he would not sell his 458 spyder on when he gets it, they also took satellite pictures of his house to see what other cars he owns :stupid:
-
Ferrari have their own spy satellite?!
-
doubt it, but my dad said he had to sign something to say they were alowed to take satallite pics
-
LOL - Please tell me he still has a copy of that form?? Get it scanned!!
-
was thinking the same :signLOL: they must not think much of the cars if they do silly crap like that :rolleye: but then again they do set on fire a bit :signLOL:
-
il ask him tonight, if he has it il scan it and post it. Its to make sure hes not a dealer as he can sell it for ALOT more when he gets it and ferrari dont like that. :rolleye:
-
surely though once he owns it he can do what he likes to it?
...such as fit fire extinguishers
-
I'm guessing the sarcasm in my question was undetectable then? I reckon it'd be cheaper them to send a man round his house to peek through the fence than to rent a satellite off the CIA for the weekend, don't you?
-
not sure, why dont you ask them??
-
I didnt realise your Dad was getting a 458 Spider, im very jealous as I love the 458!
Have they been able to tell him when he is likely to see it? Its not been officially launched yet has it?
So I doubt you will be running that down the sprint track at Inters for a while yet?
What colour has he gone for?
-
I'm liking the new Macca, especially in orange.

it was an 18 month wait, and that was about 6 months ago, so probably about 12 months left, lol. He has a good relationship with ferrari in northern ireland, so got his name reasonably high up the list.
Maybe have it in time for next years inters   but my R32 is whay more cooler! :signLOL:

It wouldn't suprise me if most of top gears fast lap times are done by the manufacturers own test drivers
Just a thought ive had for a few years :stupid:

I doubt they'd let Clarkson near it.
A lot of the shots with Clarkson from the interior are nice and slow and relaxed. From the outside, it looks like someone else!
-
Maybe i'm just too naive but I honest didnt think for one minute that a highly regarded manufacture such as ferrari would need to stoops to such levels.

My comment: This picture's taken from Auto Motor und Sport's High Speed Test 2006.
The Fiorano did 0-200 km/h in 10,3 seconds in that test (claim: 11,0 s) and reached a topspeed of 335 km/h (claim: 331)...
