I've had a few people asking about these, and haven't got around to sending out replies to people, so thought I'd share the info I have in a thread.
The undrilled grille I had was no different to a drilled one in terms of part number, however the grilles do have numbers for each country:
ECE: 1K0.853.651.E
NAR: 1K0.853.651.F
USA: 1K0.853.651.H
JAP: 1K0.853.651.G
There are also unspecified ones as follows:
1K0.853.651.P
1K0.853.651.Q
1K0.853.651.T
My only thought is that it perhaps depends on the country code used, as to whether it is drilled or not?
If that's the case the best shot of getting one that isn't drilled would be to order a USA one?

I ordered a USA one (from VAGPARTS) and got a fully undrilled one. (I was specifically told it was a US varient).
Hope that helps?
-
Ok so the part number is: USA: 1K0.853.651.H :happy2:

What's an "undrilled grill"? Can you be more specific please - Gobblygook part #'s don't mean a lot - Are they fog grills?
Thanks

Nathan, Im pretty sure vag parts went out of business. :s
The address use to be www.vagparts.co.uk or www.vagparts.com, either use to work.
Sorry Robin, to clarify it's the centre honeycomb number plate grille. The are usually predrilled specifically for the plate holders.

No neither work Mat  Thanks anyway :happy2:
RR yours is CF if that helps?

Cheers matt and Nathan :happy2: - Not exactly a grill though but more of a mask or nose piece - Grills are open frameworks.

The top is open (open honey comb to allow air through to the radiator, right?)
Id assume it was the centre grille, as they have "grille" badges as opposed to mask or nose piece badge. :happy2:
I'm a teacher.

Being a pedant makes the baby jesus cry... :signLOL:

....A misunderstanding - I got my nose piece separately so didn't realise you were talking about the whole front assembly including open grills.

Im not trying to be a pedant. :scared:
Just trying to make people aware of what is being discussed, i.e the centre grille which is one piece.
