Just wondering what all you fellow GTI owners use to treat your rear bumpers and side skirts to keep them nice and black and not streaky. I had been using auto glym bumper car but ran out and after giving the car a wash today, it was really horrible and streaky.

I used raceglaze colour enhance trim dressing today for the first time today, and was impressed it is like a gel and did not need much (https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fww340%2FMJT22%2Fgolfgt009.jpg&hash=cabf6af840488e1118f26665a3f10d547294b755)

Autoglym bumper care (green gel stuff) really takes some beating. I keep trying other stuff but keep coming back to it.

Make sure the plastic trim is thoroughly clean before you apply any dressing.

If you want something permanent go with Gtechniq c4!! It's amazing!

I've been umming and ahhing about these nano-type products Jay. How easy are they to apply/buff? Will they withstand neat APC?
Have been thinking about using them on the front grilles, but don't know how easy they'd be to apply. I bought DJ SN trim sealant but there's no way you could get even coveragd from a tiny bottle.
-
The coverage you get is insane. They are easy to apply, but getting them smooth and even takes a bit of experience. Plus theyre expensive but they are a world away from traditional dressings

Mer bumper gel is pretty good stuff. Lasts ages and gives a really deep sheen to the black plastics
used to use it on my mk3 polo and itd last a few months with normal washing.
