Looks like the mods have merged my the threads making it impossible for me to edit.
Not impossible you just did. :happy2: no point in having two threads for the same thing, if you feel you want to update the first post all the time then Damoegan can copy it for you. :happy2:

Thanks for that but no good to me as i,m always updating it. Can,t you put my thread as the original then i can update?
-
I tried that and it goes off date so your when merged your thread came up in the middle. You do know that if you just edit your original post it doesn't get a green light to show the edit. So you would have to post a post to say first post updated. :rolleye:
Its far better just copying in your updated list as the last post, that way everyone knows there has been an update. :happy2:

I know what your saying but people automatically would check the running order in the 1st post if they wanted to know something. Its done now so i will just work around it, thanks.

Gonna try and get the 4wd boys on 1st if they all turn up together, then after that its just a case of jumping in.

I did 215bhp 250lb/ft on stage 1 Revo

was that with your intake, IC and TBE? lets have alok at the graph mate :happy2:
How did HeavyDs Ed30 go?

They refused to run Ben's new beemer in 5th??

No, standard intake and IC, just TBE.
-
Every 2.0TFSI k04 had "compressor surge" and was running "dangerously lean" (aparently I was that lean I could lose the engin).......

Edition 30 stage 1 + intake..
-
was that with your intake, IC and TBE? lets have alok at the graph mate :happy2:
No, standard intake and IC, just TBE.
similar setup to mine then really. Mines not the stage 2 but more a stage 1+ as i havent got a performance TBE, just a weaked stock jobbie. Good torque as well. would like to compare our 2 graphs.
HOw come you never went for the stage 2 though if you had the TBE already fitted
-

Got the AFR graph? Stick it up.

It's all down to the compression surge :signLOL: :signLOL:

lol oh right.
i think Revo would have long gone into limp mode if it went anywhere near that lean!
but as hedge says...lets see the AFR log then. I get 1 when i go to a DD roller. :happy2:
-
Does look a little lean but if you're Revo thats an easy fix.
-
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Faa275%2Fdamo_egan%2F_DSC3238.jpg&hash=886b4f573a3fea9a7dae29088d69822264b97102)

take it the second graph is power at the wheels then?
-
Hedge, it is a little lean but knowhere near being dangerously lean.... It wasn't lean when it was on the rollers in Jan...
Its P-Torque, not REVO.
-
Sy, yep, power at the wheels + AFR.
-
No I agree. Seek a 2nd opinion. :happy2:
-
ah ok not Revo.
for info...mine at stage 1 has AFR of 11.8:1 going down to 11.2:1 at 6500 rpm.
strange how yours gets leaner as revs increases..normally it should get richer as to prevent meltdown indeed by adding fuel to cool things abit.
but lean = power and potential big bang
-
No I agree. Seek a 2nd opinion. :happy2:
:signLOL:
-
Sorry dude can,t find. Must have left it there.
-
ah ok not Revo.
for info...mine at stage 1 has AFR of 11.8:1 going down to 11.2:1 at 6500 rpm.
Last RR result was AFR of 12:1 @ 2.5k rpm to 12.5:1 @ 6.5k rpm.. And that was at the end of Jan
-
IMO 12.5 at 6.5k is still lean...
-
My understanding is that as long as it's getting richer the higher it revs the better.
I can only speak for my experiences but leaner further up will eventually mean big bang.
If you can speak to Will @ P-Torque as he has a very good reputation. :happy2:
-
Yea, I plan to speak to Will :happy2:
I'm not overly concirned TBH as its not overly lean. I'll do some logging to see whats what.
-

That's how i see it too Hedge. But Damo's map seems to get leaner as it goes up the rev range! which is a bit worrying in all honesty. Especially if you run lower octane fuel, you're opening up the chance of detonation and potential piston meltdown!
Damo,
Do you have any boost logs? Does it stay steady or does it climb as rev rises?
-
Boost is in this graph..
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Faa275%2Fdamo_egan%2F_DSC3242.jpg&hash=f0dba2dcba500bbb18d2a900d4c328b19879158a)
I'll pop some V-Power in and do some logs over the next few days..
But TBH, Paul was doing his best to say that there was a problem with most of the 2.0TFSI's anyway :signLOL:
-
whys paul got beef with the 2.0T engine?
-
All my Superchips graphs on my Ed30 got richer further up the rev range.
Even my R32 did the same although that was rich all the time. :ashamed:
-
He was trying to sell his own software, Rich.....
-
He was trying to sell his own software, Rich.....
Aha. Now we see. That's not really the idea behind RR days imho and a bit out of order.
-

Aha. Now we see. That's not really the idea behind RR days imho and a bit out of order.
Yep... he sounds like a prize clown!
-
Exactly mate
Lact car of the day was Z of SCN. Full shebang S2+ REVO and its consistantly ran 360+bhp on all rollers and he made 364bhp today. Paul then proceded to overlay the graph with one of his own software mapped 2.0TFSI k04 graphs and said "thats the closest anyone has come to 'my' map".........
I'll prove that mine is fine (or otherwise) with logs :happy2:
-
Didnt look like this did it?

:signLOL:
I've just sprayed my laptop with tea
-
Rich,
i am literally LMFAO!!!!
-
TBH, Paul does have a very good reputation for tuning cars - especially Jap stuff and French clutter.
Pushing the maps is probably a little OTT and that pic that Rich posted did make me LOL.
-
Was AFR measured at the tailpipe?
-
Was AFR measured at the tailpipe?
Yes, it was Dave.
-
To be honest, i've had nothing but good things to say about Paul in the past and his work is normally top notch. But yesterday he was being a complete chopper...
To ask someone what software they have on there car just before putting it on the rollers, then say "oh dear, we've done 2 of these before and they were sh*t!!!" is IMO one way of getting someone's back right up. To then not run the car in 5th as well as 4th when the customer asks, like he did on Ryan's Revo'd Polo (also 7 speed), just rubbed salt in to the wounds and raised suspicions imo..
I'm certainly no dyno wizard or operator, but when my car has been on 2 other Dyno Dynamics rollers already and both times the operator has clearly stated that it needs to be run in 5th (something to do with running it in the gear that accelerates to 120mph the quickest, 4th only does 103mph), I got rather pissed off that Paul wouldn't just do at least one run in 5th to see :fighting:
Add to that my tyres looking like fooking eggs on the run and it lurching forward trying to headbutt the fan and you could probably tell I wasn't overly pleased... :sad1:
In the mean time I shall be taking mine on another set of DD rollers soon to get another opinion and see where we go from there..
Other than that rant, it was nice to see everyone again (and some new faces). Also good to see some seriously powerfull VAGS again on the day (I will miss mine a bit I have to say :sad1:).
Also a big :congrats: to Ryan again for another well organised day. Although from what I gather, I don't think he will filling RS Tunings diary with RR days in the near future.
Oh and Rich, :congrats: :congrats: :congrats: :signLOL:
-
Haha, yeah thanks Ben. :P
Plans are a foot :signLOL:
-
It was good to see old and new faces yesterday,Heard good things bout Rs tuning so I was very surprised at Pauls attitude towards peoples cars with different maps on them,as Ben mentions can't understand why he wouldn't run it in the right gear.
Hope Dom gets his car sorted..
-
Ben,
Y do u need another RR opinion for your car? You've had 2 already!
I'm sticking to my preferred RR from now on - SRR - and only put it on when I've done some performance mods that i think has affected the bhp / torque output. :happy2:
So what happened to Dom's car? Is that the chap who went Revo / PDT / Shark?
-
Doms car was down on the torque figures i think was mentioned
-
Yep, got to do a nice 6hr drive next saturday to get this sorted :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:
Made the lowest torque of the day out of all the edition 30's, even the stage 1 maps did better.
Whereabouts are we going to go next for north east rr days :stupid:

Maybe Pdt tuning :happy2:
-
Dom, I would take that graph with a pinch of salt, something has gone wrong during that run and I dont think there is a definite issue with the Shark software.
Firstly, you have a run which starts at 2250rpm and ends at 6000rpm. The tfsi K04 will build boost from 1800 rpm, if you start the run late in the rpm range you can struggle to hit full load (this is software dependant)
Secondly you are still making power when the run has ended, I know your car well and even with stock dsg software you will still be making power at 6450rpm. For some reason the run was stopped at 6000rpm.
I am not saying that your test wasnt carried out incorrectly, dyno operators have their own preferences, I would have started the run at 1800rpm and finished at the shift point.
-
I wish my car would have been done, maybe next time. Was Paul in a mood or what? sounds out of character to be honest he is usually okay, I'm sure it was only a one off?
I'm hoping Ill have another hybrid by Monday afternoon??? So car will be all sorted by Wednesday at the latest.
Darren
-
Yep Andy, we could go to Dave's gaff (its actualy the closest RR to me too )
As Ben has already said, very strange for Paul do be acting the way he did as we've always had a good day over there with no issues. He does seam to always have beef with Will (P-Torque) even going back a few years when I had the Ibiza, but the way he went on yesterday was totaly unprofessional.....
-

All 3 runs he did were all the same. I even went and told him to hold the shift paddle in on the dsg which he didnt know about, but he decided to back off before it changed gear for some reason.
I realised why the shark map has the same curve as your PDT map dave, shark must have used your map that I uploaded via the sts device and adjust that map rather than using a stock map to tweak. With the revo stock file I made 266lbft of torque!
How much would a dyno run be Dave? I might pop down after work this week, as youre only around the corner anyway

 Morning gents, long time lurker.
I had to post up a thanks to Dom for him taking the time to VCDS my misfiring (again) POS. The time stamp showed that it first happened as I drove onto the industrial estate. :sad1: At least I didn't have to drive as far as Essex this time.
If a day comes off at Dave's I know that me and at the least another 4 guys from the NE would be interested.

I spoke to Dave today, how does 16th of July sound? 25 spaces, £30 for 2wd, £40 for 4wd?
Or would everyone prefer a later date?
