Title: Hi, from a Malvern member
Post by: Verity on February 22, 2011, 08:39:21 am
Hi Guys, having been lurking around a bit thought I'd introduce myself.

I've loved the mkV Golf for a ages now, there's just something about the shape I have always really liked, but I never gave them much thought.
A little while ago my Boyfriend really got into ed30s, so I started learning little bits and bobs from him, and became really interested, and now he's trying to get me to buy a R32  :happy2:

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Ftvrulesmylife%2FRandom%2F11111.jpg&hash=2ba0bf45d00b31e39247d5da737e8abf9a349f7f)

Im currently have a mkV Polo GTI, which is my 4th polo.
He's got a few mods, mainly to the engine and the sound system.
Now I'm just focusing on getting him looking mint, being 10 years old the paint work needs some touching up and the cambelt is due and such.
I quite like the thought of having a newer car again that I don't have to do much work to.

Looking forward to learning lots from you guys  :notworthy: , from what Ive seen so far this is a really great forum, with lots of fantastic information,  nice supportive memebers- and some Gorgeous cars!

.....I'm smiling at ya!

I'm amused about you calling your car "He". I call mine "She"   Your wheels suit 'him'. Tell your boyfriend that he's the one who should buy a R32.. On the other hand perhaps you'd get to drive it more if it was yours.

Malvern eh.. Is Ellerslie Girls School still going? I once had a girlfriend from there. I went to Bromsgrove School, not too far away.

Welcome to the forum.
Nice looking polo, sure that will go a way towards funding the petrol of an R32 for a couple of weeks!
Used to go to BVF every year over at Malvern, beautiful town, would love to live there myself one day, but keep spending all my savings on the car instead!

He is deffinatly a wise man, and he puts up a good argument to me getting one.

HaHa brilliant! Thank you RedRobin!

All my other cars have been girls, but theres just something about my GTI that makes me think 'he'.  I can't pin point why but its just what I've always felt lol

I've not heard of that one! But I have only been here for about 5 years, so it may be a case of change of name. There was Malvern Saint James, and Malvern Girls, but about 3 years ago they had to merge, due to lack of money in both schools.

Malvern is very very beauitful, tho a little boring at times.
I always really look forward to BVF purely because i live up the hill from the Three Counties and get to watch all the Camper and other great VWs going past my house  :happy2:

Then I moved to Malvern and met 3 other Veritys  :surprised:

I deffinatly will  :happy2:
I work in Malvern Retail Park. Halfrauds to be precise,  I really hate it and have no faith in the company at all. I can get things cheaper straight from VW then I can from frauds even with my staff discount, and thats even before I get staff dicount from VW from my boyfriend.

Or a Pirelli if you want exclusivity!

I was reading into those the other day. i do attually quite like them. The seats are very different

Hi and welcome. Love the polo, especially the rims.

Thank you
And thank you for the rims comment! Ive read a lot of bad things about them on the net, but its mainly down to brand snobbery. Obviously you want good rims that'll last and are made to a high quality, but when its just down to it being about the little badge in the center, Im now worried. So I got them because I loved them, so screw em all  :P

That's cool  :happy2:

Chicks who are cool about the stuff which blokes come out with are always the best in my book  :drinking:

On the other hand I appreciate how difficult it can be being a female on a male dominated forum and the amount of unwanted attention you can receive. You're obviously experienced in these matters and can hold your own.

Yeah its all harmless and fun to me  :happy2:
I'd much prefer to laugh then to get offended
I get it at work quite a bit. Lots if cheeky comments from customers but I know it's all harmless banter,
What's not is the occasional 'I'd prefer to ask Him' (or just down right ignoring me) is a bit annoying but my collegues are pretty good and will normally say 'oh I don't know, ask Verity'   (from women as well as men  :sad1: )

Boyfriends car has to come first  he's got the chaps at his work hunting one down for him. There's a black ed30 at Evesham but it may already have a deposit down on it already. But well see tomorrow if anything happens with it
And the polo is in need of a lot if work before I can part with him.
Just hoping to stumble across a job where I can afford to keep both really.
But the boyfriend deffinatly comes first. He's got to have his fun before I go and copy his car choice again  :innocent:
