Title: Help?! De-cat
Post by: jeynesey on February 22, 2011, 05:29:29 pm
Ok, so can someone explain to me please? :signLOL:

If you buy an exhaust (full system/TB) with a de-cat, is this not an MOT failure?

yes as the emissions will be out as there is no catalytic convertor to reduce emissions at output ,you will also need a remap to code out the lamdas otherwise your EML will be on and your car may possibly go into limp home mode  :drinking:

Not saying that I have a decat. But if i did, it doesn't wouldn't show any eml lights or fault codes.

Most tuners can alter your diagnostics to eliminate any dash lights when you fit a decat.

As for MOT time, it will fail (unless the probe is accidentally put up another cars exhaust)

I got the EML on my decat but got my tuner to map it out.
