Title: Oil filler cap.

My car has been in for a service today, popped the bonnet when I got home and one thing caught my eye.

Between the oil filler cap and the engine cover should there be a rubber grommet? I'm half sure that there was one there before or am I just imagining it?
I'm sure that there wasn't a gap before!

Hope you guys can help me out, cheers..... :sad1:

Yes there is its proberly still there as they can slide down under the engine cover have a quick look  :happy2:

It should be there, as said it most likely slid down the filler tube.  To be fair it is quite difficult not to knock it out of place when refitting the cover.

Yes, I had this. You can reach through the gap and lift it back into place without removing the cover itself.

It's quite important to reinstate this rubber seal as it prevents any water that manages to get down into your coil pack recess.

If this happens your coil pack may end up looking like this:

Some people don't have the standard engine cover fitted and therefore accept this risk. It's probably best advised not to pressure wash the engine bay with no cover on though. :happy2:
