Title: Sat nav install in Leon help needed
Post by: TrickGTI on February 22, 2011, 08:30:22 pm
Hi

My mate has a 2007 Leon Cupra and has just bought a sat nav unit for it and he is after someone in the York or Leeds area what would be willing to fit it for him. Iv told him that he might need a new gateway or something like that as iv seen people on about it on here and we are not quite sure if it's a straight swap or not. Any help or suggestions would be great thanks.

Not in the right area to help with the fitting, but knowing which nav system he has bought would help, is it an RNS510 for example.  If it is then there are hacked firmwares to get you around the battery drain issues with the can gateway.

Also I believe in the Leon he will need a new piece of trim to fit the nav unit as the original stereos aren't the same shape. So he will need to look into that as well.
