While washing the car the pressure dropped momentarily then picked up straight away but noticed water starting to come out through the front grill. Not keen on electricity and water mixing I stopped immediately. Any experience of people blowing seals on their washers? Should still be in warranty so fingers crossed ok. It's just ,I seem to remember people having problems with frost damage and then Karcher being arsey about it.

Sorry to have to say this but Karchers are renowned for doing this. The bearings go in the motor and they start to leak oil followed by water pouring out of the unit.
If you google search there are loads of people with the same issue.
I have had it happen to me and decided to switch to a Nilfisk power washer which has a aluminium motor.

Nilfisk, Danish quality FTW
-
Bloody thing! I've only used it twice :fighting: Fingersd crossed I've still got the receipt and it's going back.
Thanks guys...Nilfisk it is :happy2:

I've heard stories of this happening and the cost to repair can be as much as the price o a new machine. Having said that, my little K2.02 still plugs away fine.
See what Karcher say and do. Where did you buy it from?
Despite my karcher working, I upgraded and i went for nilfisk too. If you do go for the latter, buy it from Argos so any problems and you just take it back in person.

I've had 3 of these cheapy Karchers and they all did this after 2 or 3 uses. Bought a biggun in the end and it has lasted years. Can't believe they still make these dodgy plastic pump versions!
-
My Karcher done the exact same thing on the weekend :fighting: :fighting: :fighting: :fighting: :fighting: :fighting:
The thing is I cant find the blooming receipt grrrrrr!!!

Did you use a card to pay for it? Could use the bank statement as a receipt maybe?
-
It doesn't have to be plastic pumps, my dad has a Cat brand pump from an industrial pressure washer. A little bit of water left inside after use combined with a hard frost over winter and it smashed the pump to f**k! Never underestimate the damage ice can cause! My dad's remedy was to put a little anti-freeze in the replacement pressure washer over the winter, that did the trick! Just turn it on and let it rinse it through before you begin washing your car! :happy2:
-
Mine all went pop in the summer.
-
You might be lucky, thus happened to one of mine and it turned out just to be the connector from the bottom of the pump that the lance screws into. £3.95 and 5min later, jobs a good one.
