I am unsure how the MKV Golf is set up with bump stops, are they an issue as the ride heights is lowered :scared:

I haven't had any issues with my rideheight, app. 295mm from center of rim to lower edge of fender :happy2:

Wow that's Low !

.
When you say "bump stops" is that what I call "sleeping policemen" or "speed bumps"?
I only have problems on extra high less standard ones and only on my front splitter. I take them really slow anyway.
My ride height is 330mm front and 325mm back. The VW specified range for what they call Sport Suspension (G08/1JE) is 350-370 front and 355-375 back.

Thanks for the feedback.
I was referring to actual hard bumpstops in the suspension. I have lowered cars before only to find 'bottoming' under compression, where the hard (or even progresssive) solid suspension bump stops start to significantly add to the effective spring rates. This give the skittish unsettled bounce over big undulations or bumps, dips (A sudden increase in spring rate under load)
I don't know where they sit (I havent looked on a Golf) in the shock itself or the suspension ?
On BMW's it's quite often an issue but less often understood !

I know what you mean, hitting the bumpstops when cornering can be very dodgy. I had mine lowered by about 30-40mm on coilovers and never had an issue with hitting the bumpstops.
never read of any bump stop issues on the mk5 chassis
