Title: Torque setting - Brake caliper carrier bolts??
Post by: bodger00 on February 24, 2011, 07:37:36 pm: I have had a quick look in the workshop manuals on here and think I have found them as 190Nm but its not clear. The 2 bolts are 21mm and its the front wheel caliper carrier.

Is this the right torque setting? As that's f***ing tight!

Post by: DaveB@Vagbremtechnic on February 24, 2011, 09:57:25 pm: Its M14 Metric fine so M14x1.5x35, from memory its a 10.9 so you're good up to 220nm beleive it or not, so 190 with a collared bolt doesnt sound unreasonable.

Its only 140lbs ft if that sounds more like it!!

If you've got a bit of time then renew the bolts, they 10.9 class so not stretch bolts in the true sense but you dont want to be swinging off them more than twice.

I think they're N90948802 prob cost you a fiver for all four
