i can open it up on briskoda as well if you cant get enough runners.
If my milltek is on, I'll come along
i can open it up on briskoda as well if you cant get enough runners.
Did you?
RR said he wanted to see how it went on here first. I think he feels threatened by the skoda community taking over on here(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fk97%2Fteflontom%2Fskodakissqm3.gif&hash=7ed1388ef94189dbfbe383f9570358dd2436193f)

....What, like a closet northerner? [says Robin who was born in Yorkshire]
I was born in Buckinghamshire, hactually!
Will we be done by lunchtime then? I quite fancied a steak at the Red Shoot in (I think) Linley. Haven't been there for a while, but it was always good. They bring it out still sizzling on a skillet with lashings of garlic butter.
Robin was born in Yorkshire? Gods county? :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

Yup, bog standard 07 silver 3 door GTI.
The forum needs some form of code wave, else you look like you're gesticulating randomly.
Im good for food after or before or both :signLOL: Alex i could meet you at yours or the layby after the roundabout by avon country park at a time of your choice. and gains numbers as we go :driver:

Down the A3 would have less traffic. JKM SatNav PO3 5RD.
+1. take junction 10 off of the M25. that'll put you on the A3 then onto the M3.
But hes coming from london so the M3 will be after the A3 which is after the M25.

....I'd get off the M3 and onto the A3 as soon as you can - It's fast dual carriageway and usually much less traffic.
Nah a3m from m25... Not m3...
You come through broadstone most mornings?
.
Have just spoken with Kate @ JKM - The 18th is a goer!! :pomppomp: :jumpmove: :pomppomp: :jumpmove: :pomppomp: :jumpmove: :star:
Remember, volks: Please be there @ 9:00am sharp!
9am! Jeez thats an early start!
Considering Ive never been to an RR before...am I going to be deaf by the time I leave :signLOL:
....Only if you stand in the direct line of fire and that's not advised as you can get spat at!
9am! Jeez thats an early start! As above, there's lots to do. Prev JKM dyno days that I've been to end after midday so the earlier they start, the earlier everyone gets to go home! Including JKM!
I'm a coming too......!
Unfortunatly I won't be bringing the soot chucker (you can leave your gas masks at home).
I'll be coming down with Jussa purely for entertainment and moral support when he finds out AMD's rollers have been far too kind to him :signLOL:
Also, are we going in order of numbers listed....eg. I'll be going 11th on the RR
Go on Robin, put up your spec
Hi All.
Please can you all put the make and model of the car you will be running next to your name so we can arrange the running order for Saturday morning please
Regarding timescales if we run apprpox 15 cars then this should be completed by approx 12 noon at the latest. Depending on numbers this may even be sooner so please ensure you all arrive promptly and are ready for 9am.
See you all Saturday
Regards
Kate

Not really on the day. I suppose you could do it on the road beforehand.

....As the big fella Hedge says, but if running on the dyno shows up a problem JKM usually will do all they can on the day to identify and help if they can.
Sorry, i wont be there. Cant afford the trip again. My car made 232bhp last time and nothings changed :sad1:

Cool cheers RR, not that I'm expecting any probs... Lookign forward to it, though weathers not looking overly great... :(
I'm lazy, and that means I never take my VCDS lead out of my car. If anyone has issues they(hopefully not me!) were previously unaware of, there's the option of going for a spin up the road to log the data.
Robin,
One more to add to the list please from Briskoda:
Octygone Skoda Yeti 2.0 TDI (2WD version!!)
She can come too!
^^^^^ Any excuse Robin! :congrats:
@ Alex:
Please PM me your mobile in case I'm held up by traffic on my way to you (unlikely, but).
And is the plan to leave yours at 7:20am latest?
Hopefully we're not doing lots of pickup stops for others on the way because it could easily make us late at JKM.
Wooohooo! see you at Rownhams! :happy2:
How long do we think itll last for? Ive got quite alot to do Saturday on the Mk2 :signLOL:
The wheel bearing is screaming and needs replacing asap
7.20
But be warned that such meets can sometimes lead to spending even more money on modding
Guys - really really sorry but I wont be able to make it tomorrow now
In short, insurance company have taken my payment twice by mistake and have wiped my bank account out. I cant afford a tank of fuel let alone a run on the rollers :sad1: :sad1:
Will see you at the next one.
For those that were meeting at mine, my apologies. You can still meet outside and go from there if you wish though :signLOL:
Very convoluted excuse to avoid roller figure embarrassment. Face it, you are scared the Yeti would eclipse your car! Bggggaarrkkk! :booty: :booty::evilgrin:

As I said earlier today.
Do you want a map that makes your car faster or do you want a map that gives you headline figures?
It's ok to have 10 million lbft or torque but if the first time you try and use them you spin the wheels then you can only realistically use about half of them.
Not something I am often heard saying but bigger is not always better.

think you've just persuaded me to stay as i am with mine
:signLOL: well said Hedge, I do tend to agree with you, but something must be wrong if a stock standard GTi gets 216bhp and a stage 2+ is only 37bhp more??
His AFR wasnt ideal, and from my own expeirience of that intake id imagine hes got a few Hp to gain there:signLOL: well said Hedge, I do tend to agree with you, but something must be wrong if a stock standard GTi gets 216bhp and a stage 2+ is only 37bhp more??
I can't answer that one specifically. May be there is an underlying problem. Dunno really.
AFR????
AFR????
of course JKM could have done a mis match of roller speed vs engine speed when setting up (but Jim takes great care setting up the car on the roller before doing the power run so bit unlikely)
Carrera... I would say that its the intake holding your car back on the top end.
is it me or did JKM's rollers all run figures about 20bhp above normal readings?
Did someone say the rollers had a problem?

Seems a little odd... last time they were bang on the money as proved by my car making 232bhp
Seems a little odd... last time they were bang on the money as proved by my car making 232bhp
....Yes and no. The atmospherics were apparently very good but this is why I'd like JKM to comment.
Personally I wasn't too surprised about my increase because the car had settled since its 261 previous best.
Pity you weren't there for a direct comparison and to offer sausage meat.
Will JKM be putting this event up on their website?
Speculating about such things will only give you heartburn and sleepless nights. :smiley:Tell me about it. Remember when I lost 8bhp between two JKM dyno days? :stupid:
As spoke about on the day we all have a limit to how far we will take our tuning. Sadly i have found rubbers very usefull in erasing the line and moving it haha :signLOL: :driver:
Dom, you need a new scanner :signLOL:
Guys, it was great meeting you all yesterday and putting some names to faces :drinking:
As I said, regardless of number chasing I can't believe that a stage 2+ car can be so behind in figures.
Look even at Robins car being just stage 2, no HPFP or intercooler and getting far better figures (with a toned down Revo map)........can only be down to the watered down map that AMD have given me :fighting: :fighting:
I just hope that Revo will sort me out at Inters
Great to meet a few more guys from the forum, thanks for the kind words about my car.
I have pretty much decided what to do with my car and engine tune. With stock Revo 2 on 6,5,9 it was sweet, seemed much crisper and quicker than it does now with the same map and the twintercooler. I will speak to REVO and TTRS for some thoughts, if I am not convinced that a remap, by REVO will sort if I am going to go back to exactly as it was before. This might be less powerful than the current set up (seems strong to 5,700 with over 300 lbft between 2,900 and 5,000) but simply ran sweeter and felt quicker.
If one trip brings the crisp responsive running back with inlet temp and better response in the hot weather great, if not then I have two options :
1. Go back to stock
2. Fit the THS intercooler
I like the idea of headroom and lower inlet temps, 300ish hp is more than enough for me and the chassis, so I am not tempted by 2+
OMG, the plot thickens...... :fighting: :fighting:
A F*&%&$kin yeti improves by 23bhp on JKM's rollers.....and I lose around 30.....maybe it nicked the horses from me :signLOL: :signLOL:
The AFR on Jussa's car is pretty rich.
His issue was down to dsg, the power was similar before and after...
just a thought, all the cars that claim to have run accurately, were new cars??
Would having lower tread on the front wheels cause differences in RR readings??
If all models of cars were strapped down the same, yet the newer cars ran nearer to their Pre claimed bhp..
I think the F*&%kin Yeti ate all my Horses
but would tyres not being up to temperature cause an issue Bacillus?
but would tyres not being up to temperature cause an issue Bacillus?
If the tyres weren't up to temp then they will have a slightly lower pressure. This should only have a minor effect when the dyno is trying to calculate the coast down losses to convert wheel hp to crank hp.
The above again assumes that no tyre slippage has occured on the dyno.
His issue was down to dsg, the power was similar before and after...
Well my tyres are not new..... :sad1:
awesome news mate on the revo change. i tempted to get an sps now and have a few different settings to run on the rr days to see whats best. or upgrade to KO4 and have lots more lol Like everyone says though power is nothing without traction so will be doing more in that department aswell. God i love my car too much and like my gf says prob more than her :signLOL:
Jussa let me know if you fancy another trip to jkm or somewhere else as it will be a good comparison between our cars when we will have nearly everything the same. :happy2:
