Title: Good price?

APS are currently offering uprated ARBs, front wishbone bushes, lower engine mount bush and a laser alignment for £730 all in. This a good price, bearing in mind that no manufacturers for the parts were mentioned?

Hmm, I'm not convinced it's especially a good deal. The alignment is a sweetener but also recommended after suspension mods but is it done on a laser rig or a five minute job by hand? (Oooops! I nearly wrote "hand job".... Now if that was on offer by some hot babe....).

If you check out the typical cost of good ARBs (APS tend to sell quality stuff) and bushes and lower engine mount.... You wrote "engine mount bush" and the 'torque insert bushes' are really cheap.... It's not looking good. But to be fair to APS, a phone call might help clarify what's on offer.

I believe I stated laser alignment, yes. They have a Beissbarth rig, according to the blurb.

BigBertha aka Beissbarth is also very highly rated.

So, all the info you posted is on the APS web site is it?  :smiley:

No it was on r32oc.com as a forum member deal. Pretty sure that ARBs for the R cost more than ones for the GTI, so that might be why it seems dear?

Dunno why ARBs should cost more for the .:R - Isn't the Mk5 Golf chassis the same? And tube is tube  :confused:

Nope. Great big V6 and 4WD is the difference.

....Ah yes, of course. Much heavier therefore different ARB weights, but surely not a major price difference?

Right, the parts are thus: H&R ARBs and new OEM bushes with Defcon sleeves.

Duh, above info was for a mk4! Mk5 is H&R ARBs, SuperPro uprated lower wishbone bushes and uprated engine mount bush, plus the previously discussed wheel alignment.

I was supposed to be having this done today and was planning on reporting back, but I got blown out and had to re-book for Tuesday. :sad1:
