As per??
I'm after one and I'd expect it's as good as all the other VWR stuff, but how much are they and what do they look like on a white GTI?
-
Joe has on his car
-
Ah, I've asked him on his reader's wives thread...
Found a pic on a white one, I likey!

I do believe the exact same bumper can be bought a lot cheaper elsewhere. Cant remember where though Joe is the man to ask.

thats who make the rieger

I'd want it in textured black plastic, like mine is now. Hopefully that version is even cheaper?
-
....
VWR's is about £245 incl vat (rounding off the pence).

Shame nobody does a cheaper replica of the VWR spoiler. It sits very low and at £245 it would be a very risky investment for a road car!
I first saw one of these on a road car at GTI International back in 2006 (on VW UKs stand) on a grey 5 door GTI with 19'' CHs and it just looked perfect as GTIs go, completely understated and yet obviously modified to those in the know, which to me is what GTIs are all about.
As ever I'd be in the minority but I actually prefer the unpainted black bits on a GTI as a) it's traditional and b) it breaks up the colour a bit, depending on car's colour of course.
-
mine is the reirger one and can be baught from orange-tuning.de for around 180 delivered, if you email first he may knock 10% off.
its not textured though, it need to be painted and is ALOT deeper than std splitter on both gti and ed30. HTH
-
Cheers Joe, I don't want a painted one so it's not for me... but good tip for others.
£245 isn't shocking, as long as it is in the same material as the OEM GTI one. I want it to match and I want it to withstand the odd scuffing - I don't want anything brittle.
I'll give them a bell.

Mr danza it is obvious to me that you will only accept buying one from VWR and we all know that this because you want a spin in the red devil
Just be warned its been used and abused by Billy and Matt. :drinking:
-
Ha ha, I'm waiting to find out of the VWR one is what I want, but I doubt I'll get a play for a splitter, maybe when I have the engine mounts done?
I'm gonna kick its head in when I finally get a go in that slut.

....Brittle doesn't last very long in racing. But I'm sure Mark will give you an honest answer rather than try and sell you one.

....Oi!!!! I'll have you know that I was the very first person (outside VWR staff) to drive that red temptress!

I had a measure up and I'll be fine so long as I'm very careful and hit it straight on. Balls to scraping, but that's why it can't be brittle.

IIRC, my OSIR front splitter clears 105 mm and it's fine except any extreme speed-bumps and indoor carpark ramps.

Sorry Red couldn't resist, what is a extreme speed bump. Does it go abseiling at the weekends. :fighting2:

PMSL - Cowabunga dudes!!

^^^^
Sorry, guys, but that one passed straight over my head.
I mean an extremely high speed-hump (aka 'sleeping policeman', traffic calmer) - They vary in height and materials and aren't all built and shaped to a uniform standard.
