Title: Squeeking tensioner?
Post by: Bane on February 28, 2011, 09:15:34 am
On starting my Edition30 from cold, theres always a squeeking kind of noise coming from the belts endf of the engine. It normally goes away after the engine has warmwed up a little(about 5-10 mins).
I think it's the tensioner but I'm wondering if there's anything else I should be looking at or is there anything that I need to know about the pulleys/tensioners that may lead to a failure?

When's the cam belt due for change?

I've just reread my post and I reckon I must have just fallen out of bed when I wrote that! :indifferent:
The cam belt shouldn't be due for a while yet-the cars just gone past 20,000 miles.
It had a main dealer service last October and they did a brake fluid change but never mentioned anything about the cambelt.

Or 4 years old bane.

Chances are you wont get a failure, just bunko the bushy will get louder over time until the belt/tensioner is replaced.

I put up with mine for about 4 months but then had to get it done as it was getting on my nerves...
