Looking at spending £25k ish, lower is better.
Hes been looking at new cars like Audi A1 and Mini john cooper works.
I'd rather he didnt get a mini!
Has to be fast new but noot too expensive as he's 21 with 1years NCB due to being on his parents insurance before.
A john cooper works mini is about as high as he's willing to go on insurance.

if u can find any of those for £25 ill take 2! :signLOL:
-
Something by Lego on that budget.
-
his options in that range of hot super mini
Renault Clio 200hp
Citreon DS3R 204ps
Mini Cooper S JCW 208hp
Polo GTI 180hp
Fabia vRS 180hp
Ibiza Cupra 180Hp
the mini is the choice of the bunch IMO, ive ordered the fabia vRS whihc is on VAT free at the moment so 20% off. got it for sub 14k loaded with xtras as well.

got some performance figures for you here from EVO

no bad results for the polo considering the others are more powerful by between 11-30hp!! takes the mini up until 80mph before its extra 30hp allows it to beat the Polo. they should really have compared it to the normal Coop S though and not the Cooper S JCW.
Bear in mind the Polo GTI runs the same chassis, gearbox, engine and power as the fabia vRS and Ibiza cupra as well so they would be neigh on identical in performance to it
-
ibiza cupra will be best for insurance as for some reason insurance co's/dvla think its a group 4 car.
Quote for the missus:
Mini Cooper S 1600
Clio sport 1500
Ibiza Cupra/boc 450
-
but they will notice that when guys start writing off their cupras, which is a a guarantee
-
polo gti for me, awesome looks and plenty quick enough after a trip to revo.

The VAG 1.4TSI (180)s are the choice engines IMO. A few guys on SCN have been told today from revo that the stage 2 on the 1.4TSI (180) engines is making 245hp consistently graphs and software are officially released tomorrow.
now if guys in stage 1 220hp ibiza cupras are managing 5.5seconds 0-60 @ GTI international (one guy got sub 5 seconds!!) and also managing 13.5 second 1/4 miles @ stage 1, id say with the extra 25hp of the stage 2 map and mods its surely got a 13.0 1/4 and a consistent 5 sec 0-60 sprint in it.
The vRS is Vat free, and i think the seat is as well. that makes the polo a bit expensive in comparison. definitely the polo though if that went vat free

people have already tried to explain to the insurance co's who dont seem to be interested. Its been two years now aswell
-
The vRS is the hottest hatch of them all in my opinion. When I say hot I actually mean uncool. They mean the same thing, don't they?
For that budget why has no-one mentioned the proper GTI i.e. a Golf? Could probably get into a mk6 for that money, or a Pirelli with lots of change to spend on insuring it.
-
My fully loaded Octavia vRS DSG Estate which i have just ordered is only £22.5k new with the 20% off. A hatch would work out around £21k and a Manual around £20k
Im sure he could get insured on that for less than £2.5k
