Wow these were a PITA to get done.......thought i post some pics, any questions just ask, they look pink in the photos cause the lighting is rubbish but they are a cherry red (RAL 3002) which is as good a match for OEM as you can hope to get. Ive put a picture of the fronts so you can compare the OEM (front) SEAT finish to the powder coated (in RAL 3002) rears.

looking good..i did mine this week also
-
I replaced the rear mounting bracket bolts but MAN were they a FOOKer to undo!!!! apart from that its a fairly straight forward conversion to do, but the powder coating company i used did a good job just i had to finish the edges up nicely around the paintwork to get them ''spot on'' that was time consuming and fiddly but worthwhile
-
i bought the calipes only of e-bay & got the carriers of the dealers and got them done red only to find they were the wrong ones :signLOL:...I am lucky as i used the ramp at work to do mine and put new bolts in as well--really big improvement
-
Bloody nice them rear brakes !. Cant wait to get mine back from the Brake Wizard . thanks for sharring
-
A lot of members would like to know were you get the powder coating done ,lots off talk about how where and at what cost ,you could give your Guy a heads up it may give him some extra work
-
hmmmmm i could but i wasnt too happy with the finish around the edges which i have now corrected.
-
OK thats fair enough
-
^^^^
Did you guys paint your hubs (Savage offer a brake caliper paint) or leave them oem finish?
-
I have had my hubs powder coated in Silver before fitting so they have some chance with the rust , they look rather good as well , I wish I had gone to the trouble off matching the hub paint to the wheel colour so it all seemed like one ,
-
Can I ask how much of a difference you actually notice with this modification.
Thanks
-
erm not much testing as yet bud!
-
Hop to it then please :happy2:
-
Fronts seam a marked improvement , cant comment on the rears as waiting to fit them soon as i get them back ,HTH

....Not exactly the same brake setup I know, but... With AP's on the front, when I replaced the stock rears with the S3/R32's I experienced an immediate and very noticeable feeling of being better balanced and 'planted' more evenly under hard braking. I have the standard pads on the rears.
-
I had mine done all at once and they feel a whole lot sharper. Most of the braking is done at the front anyway and various places I went to for fitting told me I only need the fronts but I decided to get the rears done too purely down to them being bigger and ventilated too. Also, as RR says, better balance :happy2:

You needed some persuasion RR. I seem to remember....................

....You remember well, Dave! I most certainly did need some persuasion . But I listened and learnt :happy2:

Hi flyboy, had news this week mine should be ready this weekend ,So some time in the very near future mine will be going on the car .Did you work out the total cost off your set up .
Did you sell your old stock GTI brakes ?
I sold my front set within days for £150 , I will clean the rears and post them up for £100 either here or Ebay .
Doesnt seam any point on keeping them as i will never refit them ,it may help someone else who wants some bigger rears as well.
