Title: mk5 Golf GT TDI 2.0L 54 plate cruise control help

cruise control stalk from ebay £2.00,can i just fit it to my 54 plate Golf gt 2.0L gti and use vag.com to activate it, or do i need the extra cable that i keep hearing about  :smiley:
