Title: Replacement VAG electrical plugs
Post by: gazbutS3 on March 12, 2011, 01:53:37 pm
Does anybody know if its possible to buy replacement plugs for the fiddly little rascals that connect everything up on our cars. The brake pad wear indicator connection has broken on the wire side of the female side, I've bodged it for know but would like to replace it if possible :happy2:

Most plugs have the part number on them Gaz.

Getting the pins out can sometimes be in issue, I have a couple of the special tools but they aren't cheap.

From the PN of the plug you can ascertain the numbers for the repair wires

Are you going to repair it yourself??

Gaz

The plug on the pads is 1J0 973 702

The plug on the car end is 1J0 973 802.  The suitable repair wires for this plug are 000 979 020 E.  You'll only need one as each wire has 2 terminals fitted.

They may tell you the wire has a superseded part number, they seem to be changing a few of the repair wires lately.
