They removed a rear window to gain access, after breaking into my shed to use my own tools! ransacked the house to find the keys and took ipods, phones, my wifes handbag (with purse in) whilst they were there etc etc...
Even broke into next door neighbours shed after removing a fence panel to look for tools.
CSI are here at the moment looking for evidence.
Just found out of the officer that a Focus ST was attempted stolen in the area too, but the tea leafs were disturbed, so they didn't get it.
-
gutted for you, its a horrible feeling. Hope wife/kids etc are ok if you have any.

It's going to be difficult for you and your family not to feel this violation very personally.

Car has been found in a well known crime area called Kirby in Liverpool. Police haven't said if the car has any damage, but I'm not getting my hopes up. :angry015:

I dont know whether thats good news or not. lets hope it was just a couple of druggies needing a ride home.
And the car is intact. :happy2:
-
I hope they took it out for nothing more than a joyride.
-
when u get it back get it checked out at vw just to be safe
-
excellent news, but does this mean it's now classed as a stolen and recovered?
-
Good news (I think?) :happy2:
-
Good news so far!
I hope you get her back safely with no damage. We had a gent on the other forum who had his car stripped completely when it was stolen. Lets hope yours is still in beautiful condition.
Mike :drinking:
-
Glad to hear it has been found matey but as Mat says I would get it thoroughly checked over by VW :happy2:
-
glad to hear its been found. hopefully it will be intact. if not, its horrible to say, but its better off being written off.
i know if someone stole my car, id rather they did a proper job of wrapping it up. Ive got shortfall/RTI insurance on mine so i wouldnt want a repair jobbie
-
so sorry to here this... lets hope the car and everything is ok
-
Hope its ok, probably had there fun in it, or they left it to see if it had a tracker
-
good news there fella, hope car is still mint for ya
-
If they did no physical damage the car should be just fine. It's garage mechanics I don't trust. They hammer sports cars (which the GTI is) at lunchtime. And we pay them for it.

I get paranoid about this, for some reason I dont trust anyone with my car :scared:
-
Cheers for all the comments guys - it's really appreciated. My car was mint condition wise before it was taken, and I can't stand the thought of a couple of scrotes driving around in it.
Luckily I've got some pretty decent detailing /valeting chemicals which are going to be brought into play when I get it back, my George extractor is going to earn its keep!! I think bio-brisk should do a good job.
I dread to think what it will be like after CSI have finished doing forensics on it!
-
Did they take it for a joyride or was it used for some nefarious purpose (eg getaway vehicle)?
Where was it found (may have missed this)?
Have you seen it yet?
-
By the sounds of it they just used it to get home! was found in kirby, Liverpool, parked up in a residential street. I haven't seen it yet as they won't let me until forensics have dealt with it.

Im pleased the car sounds intact mate :happy2: I can't imagine how I'd feel about the whole situation? I hope you and the family are ok?
-
i reckon they have parked it up to see if it has a tracker....so your more than likely going to find a perfect car.
it will have been taken by scroats who do this all day long. they will have probably stolen it to sell on abroad or strip it. so they will park it up, having done nothing to it, well thats my guess
-
Agree with JPC here. That's a standard tactic. Nick it, park it up somewhere for a few days, if no one comes sniffing in a few days, then they assume it's probably not tracked, they then move it again never to be seen.
Seen this a few times on those police programs on the telly (road wars or something).
Absolutely delighted to hear your getting it back Sixpot, especially as I live in Warrington as well :happy2:.
Had a couple of sleepless nights this weekend, thinking I could hear noises outside !!!!
-
glad you got the car back...was the key still in the ignition or is it missing...as you will have to change both keys
