it can be done on one provision,

Have a look at your part number of your cluster.
Then have a look at the cluster number you bought.
Basically all the numbers need to be about the same, but the last three digits has to be only 10 difference.

Ie, 368 C will become 378 C

Then it can be fitted.

As your car is an 04, it will be easy to do with Vag-Commander. What is the part number of the R32 Clocks?  if they end 960, 970, 961, 971, 962 & 972

Then Darren (MortyGTtdi) will be the man to see.

If they end with 3 or 4 then you will need to send them of to a company like shark performance for them to read the pin and reset the mileage

You do realise it isn't going to make your 1.9d suddenly able to do 6750RPM  :signLOL:

Do the clocks not just read the normal rpm (although the dash obviously is clocked to more)?? i was thinking of doing this to mine too, but was unsure of what part numbers were compatible with each vehicle!!!

I'd imagine things have moved on since I last wired in a rev counter, there'll be some sort of witchcraft in the clocks and a crank position sensor - so I'd imagine it'll read correctly.

I think Darren has R32 clocks in his GT and I seem to remember him saying they read the correct rpm.

They will read the correct rpm but obviously you won't be able to rev the full range  :rolleye:

Ya can try but it doesn't sound good

They work fine, its all electronic now so reads info from ECU and Canbus.
