Title: Premium bluetooth
Post by: Gtiain on March 19, 2011, 07:56:22 pm
Can somebody confirm that this is the latest Bluetooth software that will fit into a mk5? I'm after the newest one possible so if this isn't then can someone point me in the right direction? Cheers.

Your MFD has red letters/ pictures etc, newer cars like the mk6 Golf and later sciroccos have a white MFD like below.

Not a problem if you have an RNS510 - Which you do.  :happy2:

If you want the DiS to work you need a Skoda 1Z0 xxx 729B

Yes it will work, but only on your RNS and will not display on the DiS.

Yeah I've just had a look on eBay and there wasn't one! So is it a case of having a look every Now and then on there until one turns up?  :happy2:

I don't think its an issue tbh.  You'll find with the RNS510 that you probably wouldn't use the DiS.

Would the mfsw buttons work?

I've not tried that unit myself but normally the star button can be made to answer calls, but again with the RNS being touch screen that will be the method of choice.

I have to Skoda 729B and ONLY EVER dial from the DIS menu.

IMO pointless having a multifunction wheel and dialing from the touchscreen........

My thoughts exactly. Going to get one of those I think even though they are £100 more expensive than the brand new ones!

I always found dialling from the DiS more difficult and time consuming.  Even now on the RNS-E which sadly doesn't have touch screen I use the headunit controls.  Each to their own I guess.

Supply and demand mate.......

I paid £270 for mine but I sourced all the bits seperately and fitted it myself.

Took about half hour  :happy2:

I agree if your not in the phone menu and your searching for a number from the whole phonebook.

I usually have the phone menu up in the DIS when I drive and most people I call are in the recent calls list so no searching through the many numbers.

As said Stu ETTO  :happy2:

Ian if your using a Nokia or something with Rsap then i highly recommend the VW premium kit but you need the highline for it to work which I think you have.

If you have the ibone :fighting: bad for the red Dis cos there is no solution other than what Stu suggested 729B version.

You could use the 7P6 035 730C? The one you suggested from eBay is the premium kit and will not work on the RCD/RNS510 has it needs the highline Dis for it to work but also it only works on the white Dis,

Very complicated what works with what.

Darren, unfortunately I've got an iPhone! I've got my eye on this kit on abay which I think is suitable.

That does look a good price.
And if it really does contain everything you need.

It's missing the under seat cradle, the fixings and the carpet cover.

Can you still get those parts? (are they the same for my Passat?)

Got a couple of odd bits in the garage I think Lee, pretty sure I've got a couple of brackets and a carpet or two as well as fixings.

If you are putting it under the seat, make sure the loom is long enough. I bought the 729E kit off them for my mams mk6 and the loom was for installing it behind the climate control panel.

I contacted the seller Gtiain :)

They said the loom is 2.5metres, so that should be OK  :happy2:
