Title: Will these MK6 OEM LED number plate lights work?
Post by: david25 on March 20, 2011, 01:29:55 pm: Hi everyone, does anyone know if these MK6 OEM number plate lights will work with a MK5 (physical fit and be free of light out errors)?

you can also change the bulb to a canbus error free LED bulb :happy2:
just make sure you dont buy the LED version as there will be errors on your clocks!!!

Aren't they canbus error free in the first place? If they aren't what's the real point in doing it?

Post by: golfman on March 20, 2011, 02:11:42 pm: Yes they are canbus error free(brand new) but when you put in an LED bulb that will throw an error so you have to buy a canbus error free LED bulb if you are taking that route!!

Damn, I was hoping it would be a simple PIN swap (like the MK4) but I guess the MK4 doesnt have bulb warnings in the BCM etc?

Many of the aftermarket bulbs alone are just far to bright or can fail easier maybe? I am an OEM+ whore so that's why I would go for these over bulb only kits. ;)
