I've searched and found nothing on this subject which I find :rolleye:
I have changed my HU to the RCD310 from the RCD500.....I aslo have the soundpack installed.
The sound is better than the old unit though I can't enjoy it as the door cards rattle like @£$%.
Can someone help me out and tell me how to stop this.....without dynomatting everywhere.
Can i just reattach the card with new poppers? IT really drives me mad.
Especially after i got a MK6 courtesy car today with the RCD510 and I assume the upgrade package as it THUMPS....sound is phenomenal. No distortion, no rattles, just a seriously good sound.
Anyone in the Uxbridge area in the next few weeks fancy helping.....tea, beer etc waiting :signLOL:

Not sure if this will be relevant but was the RCD510 coded for sound pack? As it lowers the initial output from the headunit, just wondering if this is whats causing the loss in sound quality and rattle?

I have the RCD310 in mine and the dealer put in as a favour....he had NO idea about coding but said it worked
The RCD510 in the MK6 is from the factory so assume it's all set up correctly....
Though I think the old RCD500 was not coded properly as I could only turn it halfway before it would rattle.
Need someone who can check the coding on my current setup...

Any advice on sorting the rattling door cards?

First port of call for me would be to check if its fully secured to the door or if someone has taken them off at some point. The door cards are secured by 3-4 screws along the bottom edge one at the front top (only visible when door is open) and by two bolts under the door handles. There are then a number of poppers that slide into plastic holders and clip into the metal of the door.
If the doors are held in place properly then I would think the othere solution would be to remove and dyna mat or something equivalent the area also providing insulation for the cable and between the metal of the door and door card could also help.
