Title: Roof rack
Post by: jamma on March 22, 2011, 05:01:59 pm
Has anyone fitted one able to take a mountain bike? I saw one in dealers today but I am guessing that will be a few quid.

My car is in today having a new badge and mechanism fitted at rear, they said they cannot just change the badge it needs the whole thing changing!!! Also my electric seat adjuster does not work and my window needed resetting as it was opening when I shut it, so had to shut it twice. My mechatronics is fine also I had them check that. This is all free warranty work.

Funny thing is I have this golf diesel and I pulled up at roundabout and it stalled, I was trying to start it again with the key which worked, anyway it did it again at a junction, I then realised its that stupid ignition cut out thing , just pushing clutch starts engine again  :rolleye:

Also I am only getting 32 to the gallon from it and its blue motion, my gti is nearly as economical

I have thule bars (2nd hand off ebay but as new) and 3 thule 591 cycle carriers which take my 40c tyres and my sons mountain bike (think they are 2.1 or 2.2)

Check out their (thule )website it's informative and gives length of bars if my memory serves me right.
